Help please!

I'm tired and exhausted from work and feeling uninspired!

I need quick, clever but easy ideas please for TONIGHT!

So far we've done (ours only comes out on the 15th...as I told the kids that's what the lady in the shop said...)

  • with ducks in the bath, initials written in toothpaste
  • toilet roll wrapped round the kids chairs
  • playing in flour
  • playing snowballs on the living room mat with cotton wool balls

Thank you for whoever suggested the shoe train, that my elf’s sorted for the night.

As we were lying in bed after 11pm last night, realising that if we didn’t do something with the elf’s then that would have been 3 nights since the little shits did anything, I did tell DH that I don’t blame him for Elf on the Shelf. But he is the one that bought them.

Thank you so much everyone!!

Enough ideas until Christmas. I am forever indebted to mumsnet now (and we currently have pants AND knickers in our tree!) Smile

Every year I curse our elf BUT the kids love it so we persevere! Ours is riding on a Brio train tomorrow morning and I’ve helpfully left the rest of the tracks and trains out to encourage some free play (coffee time)

Hung from a noose

A child at school found her elf had 'made' a snow angel in spilt flour on the kitchen table...

Thrown in the bin

Bloody hell why do people bring this on themselves?

Right? It's torturous

Isseywith3witchycats · 21/12/2022 21:13

i am so glad this wasnt a thing when my kids were young

Me too. Bad enough doing Santa stuff with baby powder snow after midnight in the fucking cold wind on Christmas Eve after I thought it was a good idea one mild Christmas....

Be careful what traditions you start

NorthernDramaLlama · 21/12/2022 23:56

Easy one tonight, Elf made loo roll staircase to coffee table and has his hand in the box of chocolates:-)

It's a rod for own back.

I would be tempted for elf to leave a note saying I've gone back to visit Santa for a few days as he's short staffed.

"Back on Xmas day"

It's exhausting
