... how much do you pay for window cleaning?

I've just paid someone £40, which seems high, but it's SW London where everything is expensive. Previous guy (who unfortunately has moved away) was £25 but it was a second income for him (fire fighter) and he originally quoted in 2019, so I was expecting to pay a bit more for inflation. I plan to shop around before next time, so I'm wondering what is reasonable to expect to pay.

Seems expensive, but then it is London! We pay £17 in the Midlands (just gone up) in a similar house.

Dear me... If you can't afford to pay a decent rate, clean them yourself. Problem solved.

We have 14 windows and 3 sets of doors and pay £22 for a bi-monthly clean.

We pay £75 but that includes a very large ugly conservatory and it is in an expensive part of Zone 2 London. It is too expensive to have done regularly so our windows are dirty most of the year.

Weird on the window count though, we have 25. Most are double aspect

We pay £20 every eight weeks. We have a 5 storey end of terrace and he manages to clean them all with his telescopic brush. 6 large windows and 5 small.

I see these threads on mumsnet from time to time and always think you can’t compare. It depends on the going rate where you live.

i pay £30 for a 5-bed detached house in a semi-rural location, going rate for my house is £26-£35. I’d guess a 4-bed semi would be £20-£25.

i have paid £50-£100 for fewer windows in flat in central London. Fortunately, only have them cleaned twice a year. They look good enough most of the rest of the time. Whilst I have my windows cleaned every 4 weeks at the house. Could probably get away with 6 weeks but it works better for my preferred window cleaner to do it on a 4 or 8 week cycle; 8 weeks is too long for me.

It’s not always London versus other parts of the country though as electricians here are more expensive!

South East. 4 bed semi. Was paying 30 a time and he turned up every two to three weeks then just didn't one day. So I bought a gadget and now do them 4 times a year. Haven't noticed much difference but I'm very slack.
