I applied for pip in October and received a text from dwp saying we've recieved the written report of your pip assessment. We will write to you once we have made a decision. As a guide you should hear from us in 8 weeks.
I didn't have an assessment, does this mean I don't need one and does it mean il likely be awarded pip.

i rang end of October, had telephone assessment on the 16th Jan, got awarded high daily and low mobility on 2nd Feb. Good luck to all, I asked for my report before decision was made and the decision maker had gone off those points x

So, I applied in November and just got the letter today with the date for my (phone) assessment. Did you all do the call on your own? A friend who has been through the process thinks I should get someone from Citizens Advice on the call. Do they even offer that service? Also, they wouldn't know enough about my condition, would they?

sleepingbuddha · 11/02/2023 16:49

They don't need to know about the condition. They just ask questions about how you do things in day to day life. Just say the same as you said on your form :) they didn't try to trick me or trio me up. Just asked questions about how I do things.

Sorry, I meant if I had someone from Citizen's Advice with me, they wouldn't know enough.

I'm not sure about citizens advice. I didn't feel that I needed anyone to help me with the call. They just asked what and why questions and accepted what I told them. If you feel that you need support then you should definitely get it in place before your call. Good luck.

mrsfeatherbottom · 11/02/2023 23:20

No, I think I should be fine. My friend just had me doubting as she seemed so shocked I was planning to do it on my own! Just want it over and done with now

The help you get from CAB is only as good as the advisor and to be honest after my time working at CAB there are some pretty dire ones. I have seen some dreadful examples where the advisor has worded it. I honestly think people can do it themselves unless they are absolutely clueless. Put plenty of examples of what happens when you try to complete an activity. The key I believe is decent medical evidence although I did have one recently that was awarded with absolutely no medical evidence for his physical conditions and the GP refusing to believe the guy had the difficulties he said he did. It was probably awarded mainly based on his mental health he had evidence of recent mental health crisis and ongoing support from MH team etc.

Any news mammavo
Still no news for me

Hi I applied for PIP 10 weeks ago, they wrote to me stating they had received all medical forms and information and had been in touch with, physio, consultants and gps, had my telephone assessment today 26/09/2023, just had a text from DWP saying they have received my paper assessment report and will be in touch soon, typically within 8 weeks and I do not have to do anything unless I need to contact them about any changes. Has anyone else waited 8 weeks from assessment , I'm a bit confused as on gov website it state, 13 weeks from registration to decision.
Thanks
