theblackradiator · 14/12/2022 00:07

always after as it gives us something to do in that chrimbo limbo week!

WutheredOut · 14/12/2022 00:07

After- too busy with work before

FrightfullyFreezy · 14/12/2022 00:33

Before. We're going on Monday.

pizzaHeart · 14/12/2022 00:37

I prefer after but just because there are a lot of things before.

Cuddlywuddlies · 14/12/2022 00:52

Before- I get free tickets from work so I don’t usually get to choose the date. We’ve been already.

obliterate · 14/12/2022 00:52

Before, we saw it on 3 December this year. We book loads of kids theatre/concerts through December/Jan so fitting it in early is the only way to ensure we can see all the shows we want. I booked the tickets with an early bird offer back in July!

avamiah · 14/12/2022 00:53

Before Christmas buts that’s my choice .

ponygirlcurtis · 14/12/2022 00:58

We usually go between Christmas and New Year.

DramaAlpaca · 14/12/2022 01:01

I don't go as my DC are grown, but if I did it'd be after Christmas.

ShirleyPhallus · 14/12/2022 01:21

Jamepume · 14/12/2022 00:07

After

OH NO YOU DONT

Honeybirds87 · 14/12/2022 07:13

Usually before but booked for 28th this year

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 14/12/2022 07:15

We always go on Christmas Eve then out for dinner. I buy the tickets as soon as they are released because they go so quickly.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 14/12/2022 07:20

Ideally I would go on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Years Day - it would feel more special close to the day. Usually too busy to do that though.

Usually go a week or so into January to have something to look forward to and once things have quietened down.

This year I am going a week before Christmas and I think it will be a nice sort of getting into the Christmas spirit, increase the anticipation thing.

Any time is a good time for the pantomime 🎭🎄😀

ParanoidGynodroid · 14/12/2022 07:36

Going on Friday. Seems wrong after Christmas somehow!

SpikyHatePotato · 14/12/2022 07:38

Pro tip - don't go to:
The first three days or the last day of the run
Last show on Christmas Eve/ New Year's Eve
First show on Boxing Day/2nd Jan
Any show on a 3 show day
Any morning show (unless you're with a schools group)

AriettyHomily · 14/12/2022 07:40

Always before

Illbeready · 14/12/2022 07:41

Before going Saturday.

TheChosenTwo · 14/12/2022 07:42

In-laws used to take dc (it was my Christmas wrapping night in theory but inevitably dh and I used to just sit at home together and drink wine 😂), always before Christmas.

Justwanttobebythesea · 14/12/2022 07:46

Before, used to be the matinee on Christmas Eve but this year we went on the 3rd Dec as we got school tickets - too early for me as I didn't feel Christmassy - I prefer Christmas Eve, the atmosphere is much more jovial!

mrsmarmalade12 · 14/12/2022 07:49

Before

AuditAngel · 14/12/2022 07:53

We love the matinee on the last day, because where we go the cast tend to play around for that show. My daughters are/were panto babes so we usually spend a lot of time at panto, this year only 12 shows (plus a visit to the other venue where we normally perform). We also see a lot of rehearsals.

I hate Boxing Day for panto because it spoils Christmas for the performers, especially on a 3 show day

Doughnuts68 · 14/12/2022 12:00

Thanks all
