After, usually the evening performance on Boxing Day.

Slow, steady, walk into town, taxi home.

Pro tip - don't go to:
The first three days or the last day of the run
Last show on Christmas Eve/ New Year's Eve
First show on Boxing Day/2nd Jan
Any show on a 3 show day
Any morning show (unless you're with a schools group)

Sorry for reviving the old thread- I'm curious whats wrong with the last day of the run- I thought the cast might be extra fun on their goodbye show? Have I made a mistake booking do you think! :)

SpikyHatePotato · 27/11/2023 08:39

It depends. The last matinee (or second to last show if there isn't a matinee on the last day) is the one where they mess about. Can be tiny things the audience would never see, can be huge annoying in-jokes that bring the whole thing to a grinding halt, and leave the audience going, "You what?".
Last show of all is a speed run because the actors want to catch a train/ jump in their car, and the crew want to start taking the set down.

Both!

We do 2 local village ones, one is before one is after, every year. Both very social events.
When the kids were younger we used to do a big one at a theatre before.

When my DC were small we used to go on Christmas Eve, but as our DC got older, we started going to other events that day instead.
