I've had a lie in & am just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in silence. It's much needed today. It keeps trying to snow outside which is nice to watch from my cosy seat ❄️

My only plans are to do a wash load, iron school shirts, nip to Asda for stollen ingredients, bake, and cook a roast. All at a very steady pace today; I'm ready for a slooow day.

I may or may not finish painting the robin I started for a friend. If not, I'll do it one day in the week.

Dd2 has decided to have a proper do nothing day & that's fine with me, dd1 wants to bake and walk to asda. She'll vanish to finish homework at some point I think.

Tonight I want to do my nails & that's it. I've sort of given up on the dino I was crocheting, his spines are not fun to make 🤷‍♀️

Lazy start, but I am thinking of putting up the Christmas tree, and I am feeling very festive!

It's really lightly snowing here which has sealed the deal 🎄

Family arriving this morning to saw the Christmas tree to size, bring it in and decorate it. I am providing lunch, but have already made the soup and am defrosting venison pies and lemon tart.
Pleased to be busy, as still gutted from the football last night! So sorry for poor Harry Kane - he never misses penalties, he must be heartbroken at that result.

It's my lie in this morning which I am thoroughly enjoying. DH downstairs doing some crafting with DS. When I get up we're going to have a joint house clean as I started a new job last week and have been so busy that the house has gone to shit. After that we have a 1st birthday party which is rumoured to have a bouncy castle so that will hopefully tire DS out. Then I'm going for a late Sunday lunch with a friend who I haven't seen since the summer which will be a lovely, boozy, gossipy affair. Can't wait!!!

We're off to a retail park to finish our christmas shopping, my annual leave for next week has been cancelled so I've got to get it done today,probably need a lie down afterwards I'm not looking forward to it.

I’ve just had breakfast in bed & plan on taking the dog for a nice long walk soon.

I’ve been putting off cleaning out my wardrobe, but I’m determined to do it today, so that’s next on the list.

Going to a pantomime tonight with my whole family, so I’m really looking forward to that. Might visit the local pub for a Sunday roast beforehand!

DD, DH and I are going out for lunch with my Dad today which I'm looking forward to. Other than that very very little as it's freezing, frosty and not very nice! We're off to the Harry Potter studio tour tomorrow so may bake something to eat in the car, it's a long journey!

Morning all. I am sat in bed waiting for 10am to come around so I can wake everyone up.

Roast for lunch, prepped all veg and potatoes last night, meat in the oven, just parsnips and ypuds to make.

After lunch I am going to ask dp to try and balance the radiators upstairs as the bathroom towel rail doesn’t come on. Then it will be the usual Sunday afternoon film and chill out.

Dp will no doubt go into his depression around 7pm as he does every Sunday night 😬.

My house is a mess as we did the Christmas decorating this week and there is still stuff everywhere so todays plan is to finish that off - the main tree still needs tweaking I think - and put all the boxes etc away. I sorted through stuff we don’t use anymore so I will put that all in the car to take to the charity shop tomorrow. This afternoon I’m planning on writing the Christmas cards while watching a Christmas movie. We have a friend of DS’s coming to stay today for the week. Steak for dinner. With wine. For now I need to get dressed and take the dog out for a frosty walk and put some washing on.

Slow getting up for us as it’s cooooooold outside and warm in bed. Popping on a pulled pork and then off to a Christmas Market. Lots of wine and putting up the tree later too.

Have walked the dogs in thick frost, and made some cheese biscuits to take to a Christmas party. This will be outside after dog training so will be bloody freezing.

My plan is to persuade DH to make mulled wine when I get home...

Still in bed as the house is cold. Food delivery at midday so need to get up for that. Then plan to go Christmas shopping this afternoon preferably somewhere nice and warm!

Had first cuppa earlier in bed with the cricket on whilst reading the paper. Now on second cup in pjs and oodie, but out of bed at least. Plan is to finish decorating the tree and get some other decs up, maybe do some wrapping, maybe a bit of advance cooking for boxing day. Just need to get up off the settee and get started!

Stayed in bed late because the house is so cold. Done an online grocery order.

Off out for a chilly walk now and hopefully a coffee.

Need to do some work later and wrap some presents.

Then bath and Strictly.

I’m hoping for another slow, lazy day today. As is usual there’s just me and dd8 up at the moment. Dh only got in from his work’s Christmas party at 3.40am so no doubt he’ll be suitably hungover when he eventually surfaces. Dd18 was working til 2.30am last night so won’t be up til lunchtime and dd15 was still awake at 3am (when I got out of bed to move the pissing elf that I suddenly remembered I hadn’t moved whilst lying awake in the middle of the night ffs) so she also won’t be awake til lunchtime I imagine.

i did some cleaning yesterday so just need to do the bathroom and hoover the bedrooms today, iron uniforms then I can sit and do nothing again for the rest of the afternoon. Spaghetti bolognese for tea tonight (meant to have that last night but ended up ordering a takeaway instead).

So a chilled day with a bit of cleaning interspersed when I can be bothered moving. Then tea, help with homework, Christmas film and an early night ready for work/school again.

MIL is here and we were meant to be putting up the tree but a bout of (I think actual) flu has really done a number on us this week. DP still bedbound and I've woken up feeling worse than I was the last few days. DD is obviously full of beans! So hopefully MIL will look after her most of the day and I will trail around after trying to rustle up food for meals. I already know there will be A LOT of screentime. Will consider it a win if we all survive the day, not sure I can hope for much more than that!

Everyone slept in this morning which was a nice change. Got up, had eggs on toast, hung some more Christmas lights in the hedge. Now giving DC a bath. I'll wrap a few presents and have a tidy up and then we're going to DH's brothers house for lunch. Should be a nice day as long as we can leave our village- the roads can be quite difficult even with a small amount of snow!

I was up late last night, binge watching Dr Who, whilst DP snored, so I had a lie in this morning. I'm just going for a hot soak with a book and some tea.

No plans for the rest of the day, apart from a Zoom call with DS, DIL and DGC, who live abroad.

I’ve got some manky bananas, so I will make banana bread alongside whatever we have for dinner.

We’ve all been on an early dog walk this morning, we saw a poor woman do a very funny slow motion fall in ice, luckily her only injury was her pride. We almosr went over getting her up.

It’s Grandmas birthday today, so we’re picking up her youngest in a bit and all driving over to spend the day together, we’ve hired one of those chefs that come to your house to cook us all a posh dinner. So we’re looking forward to spending the day together today.

Got up early to get Peter Kay tickets for DH, 2 secured for next December after a bit of stress 😂 Feel rubbish and full of cold. Need to go to the retail park to pick up a click and collect and then I'm going to put a curry in the oven and lie on the sofa for the day! Might go to the carol service later if I feel like it.

Today is DD birthday party. It’s a class party at a local hall so over 30 kids invited but only received 9 RSVP’s, and that includes the no’s. I’m telling myself people will just turn up but I’ve spent hundreds on food and venue hire, made 37 sweetie cones to give out as party favours and am dreading the prospect that only 7 kids will turn up, DD would be devastated. To top it off the birthday girl has woken up looking a bit pale and isn’t quite herself, something seems to be working away on her but no symptom of anything yet so just hoping she survives the afternoon before anything sets in. I can’t even cancel if she does go downhill because practically no one has said whether or not their coming.
