I've had a lie in & am just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in silence. It's much needed today. It keeps trying to snow outside which is nice to watch from my cosy seat ❄️

My only plans are to do a wash load, iron school shirts, nip to Asda for stollen ingredients, bake, and cook a roast. All at a very steady pace today; I'm ready for a slooow day.

I may or may not finish painting the robin I started for a friend. If not, I'll do it one day in the week.

Dd2 has decided to have a proper do nothing day & that's fine with me, dd1 wants to bake and walk to asda. She'll vanish to finish homework at some point I think.

Tonight I want to do my nails & that's it. I've sort of given up on the dino I was crocheting, his spines are not fun to make 🤷‍♀️

Long lie in here, it’s snowing and we are watching it from under the duvet. I’ve fed the pets and let the dog out; will walk him shortly.

We are going to the cinema to see Matilda then maybe play a board game if I can be arsed to clear off the table. It’s a mess at the moment. Chilli and wine for tea.

I’ve just put the last load of washing of the weekend on. DD is in her room, watching YouTube Kids on DP’s phone, after endless, endless rounds of Hide and Seek. DP and I have collapsed, knackered, with cups of coffee.
Think it’ll be a very low-key day. I still need to sort out clothes for my mum’s funeral tomorrow, as I ran out of steam yesterday, and should do my nails.
Have to wrap a couple of Christmas presents for people I’ll see tomorrow - will hand them over at the wake, not at the crem!
I really just want it all to be over now - my mum died three weeks ago, so it’s been quite a long limbo period.
Not sure what we’ll have for lunch - I usually have grand plans and then DD asks for baked potatoes and tuna mayonnaise 😁.
Might make some gingerbread men later, if everything else is sorted.
Hopefully an early night with my book.

I think I've succumbed to the cold that DD2 and DH have had this week. I've had some cold & flu tablets, a cup of tea in bed, a reindeer shaped crumpet and a shower so I feel a bit better.

I need to collect DD1 from the station in a couple of hours and drop a parcel off at the post office. Before that I have to iron DS's uniform for the week and make pigs-in-blankets hotdogs for lunch. My plan for the rest of the afternoon is to sit on the sofa crocheting while DD2 and DS put up the Christmas trees.

DS11 is recovering from strep A, I've just come down with it:

My DM is visiting till tomorrow so she's helping with ds7. Still in bed at the moment, had a busy couple of days so will be taking it very easy today.

Making my Christmas gravy, looking out the window and it's snowing (very lightly).

We’ve had about 4 inches of snow overnight and it’s freezing hard, so we’re in today (apart from a trip to the post box with the Christmas cards). DH is pottering about doing some housework and sorting laundry while I decorate the Christmas tree and make the house festive. Nice roast dinner later on, and a cosy evening.

Awake early but had coffee in bed and cuddles with my two house tigers 😻 It's warm where I live so have done some gardening in shorts and t-shirt and about to put the Christmas decorations up.

Mentally preparing myself for my trip to the UK in ten days' time... 🥶🥶🥶

Woke up late. Went to pick DDog up from
sitter.

I’llbe dropping DH off at work shortly and he’s away overnight for work. Also dropping DS to a train station as he’s got work and his usual station is closed all weekend.

Later DD and I are planning a film afternoon, Christmassy snacks and making dinner together later. Balsamic red onion and goats cheese tart. Then more films!

Minimal chores/laundry today and will probably allow DDog to sleep on the bed as DH won’t be there moaning about it!!

Snowing here so plans scuppered for the day .. I was planning to drive to church, visit my elderly mum and do a supermarket shop. I have had a chat with my mum and she is fine so I'm not worried about her but have run out of coffee!! I am super fussy with my coffee and only like a certain ground blend ... was going to stock up today got Tesco discount vouchers in the post but have had to drink instant instead.
DH has been out clearing snow for neighbours. I will finish Christmas cards, tidy up and hopefully a film and lazy afternoon (will start the Christmas goodies) ... had meant to cook a roast but didn't get the meat so defrosting sausages instead .

Radio 3 have just started a beautiful version oh O Tannenbaum, I’ve my second cup of coffee and a book on the go so currently pretty blissful! Lazy one for me today.

It’s snowy here. DH has taken DDog out for a walk, she was going bonkers in the garden earlier daft 🐶
I have tidied the kitchen, loaded the dw and put it on, done a load of washing and put it on the airers to dry. I have hemmed 3 pairs of trousers, put away a pile of washing and sorted out food for lunch.
I’m now listening to Bear Brook on Podcast while knitting a pair of socks.
I’ve been in contact with Covid and I have to admit I’m feeling a bit odd but keeping my fingers crossed- I don’t know if we have any tests left and they’re £17 for 5 online 🫣🤬

DH and DS are away to a model railway exhibition for the day and DD has just nipped out to the shops as she's baking this afternoon while I am doing a concert with my choir at the Cathedral in the city centre. Vacuumed and tidied away papers this morning, not very exciting but trying to make space to put the tree up, there are wrapped presents everywhere in the sitting room and they need to come together!

Well my day changed slightly. I didn’t do any cleaning, ds (21) visited for a couple of hours then dh and I decided to go out for tea. We went for a curry with the girls and had a really nice time. We blasted Christmas songs in the car and we’re all feeling very festive now! Just got home (after a few wines) and dd8 is in the shower so once she’s in bed we’ll stick on a Christmas film before bed. Had a lovely day today and I’ve really enjoyed it.
