I don’t want advice. I just want to say that I find lone parenting relentless and exhausting, and to feel heard.

Oh wow, lots more posts from awesome people I wish didn’t have to be quite so awesome. I hear you all. And I’d reply much better, but I’ve got a massive tension headache.

Hang on in there, everyone. Post here if you need someone who gets it. We can keep this thread going over Christmas if you like, I’ll keep checking back 🤗

I'm around nine years in. Kids now 11 and 16.

I know it has broken me and that's terrifying. The long term unrelenting stress is traumatic.

The responsibility, the finances, the constant drudge, not able to put myself first.

It's like not being a person anymore, just 'mum.' the hardest thing ever as another poster said.

However, I'm trying to peice myself together again, and winning.

Relentless and exhausting Yes, on benefits yet work FT, no money to get them their fave foods, no money for treast, its just shit. I weep in the bath so they don't witness my pain.
No help no support, the ex is a twat lives 1000 miles away.

No point trying to date anyone, when you are stressed about leaving them.

So my advice is, get up early at weekend, and go out from 7 to 10am like I do, before they get up. A run , a walk, a shop, just to feel YOU again.
Had 2 nights out last year its just soul destroying. I hear you sister.
