children constant coughing its driving me absolutely insane

All 3 kids have colds and coughs, Its annoying the hell out of me surely I'm not the only paret who feels like this. Stop the flipping coughing!! I need survival tips to get through this

Plenty of fluids and make them blow their nose regularly is all you can do.

I agree OP. I know they can't help it and of course I'm sympathetic but it doesn't stop it driving me up the wall. I'd like a cuddle without being coughed in the face.

It IS annoying and if you're sensitive to noise, you find it very hard. I paint on a smile but I have two hacking DC and teach classes where at least half of the students are coughing, sneezing, sniffing or groaning. I dream of silence.

I hear you op! We've had 3 weeks of coughing in this house. I think I've developed an eye twitch seems to only happen when someone is coughing 🤔😅
Coughing is up there with snoring 🤯

I feel for you.
Op is right.
Lots of kids coughing all the time is irritating.

Leave the room more than usual if it is safe.
Play soft music in another rom if it is safe.

I get it OP. DS1 has had a chesty cough for more than 2 weeks now he had a few nights of coughing a LOT. It didn't particularly wake him up, god knows how, but kept me awake 3 nights on the trot. It was awful. Of course I feel for him. I just wish he'd stop.

OP, I swear by this stuff when I'm in your shoes - it's non-pharmaceutical so no risk of overdose, they can have a spoonful after every cough, very soothing.

Gosh you're getting harsh replies op. I'm not a twat and the sound of constant coughing drives me round the bend after a while.

Of course I know that the person with the cough can't help it but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

I'm a teacher and the illnesses are getting me down. I have 2 primary school age kids as well and between us constantly one of us is ill. At work I am in a classroom full of kids coughing, sneezing and occasionally vomiting. Grim. Seems a lot worse this year.

There's nothing wrong with feeling irritated. I feel irritated by all sorts of things because I'm human.

The op isn't screaming in her children's faces and putting them out to perish in a frozen forest (unless an almighty drip feed is on its way).

OP, you asked for survival tips either:

Put on some music, use olbas oil or Vicks on the feet at night.

Or

Put the children out to perish in a frozen wood.

DH had a cough for a month and I was so sick of the sound of it! I honestly felt on edge so much of the time waiting for it to happen 🥴 It just went right through me

My dc got a detention for coughing too much at school today 🙄 He can't help it! School will be called tomorrow.
