Just that really. Need inspiration for my parents, both mid-late 60s and would love to hear what others are buying Smile

@FernsAndFlowers that’s a lovely thought! For other ideas, maybe consider little seed packs that can be grown on the kitchen windowsill, mini jigsaws, CD/link to playlist of meaningful songs/posh tea/coffee bags etc.

A charity gift. All adults on my side only exchange charity gifts and have done for about 20 years. It is so nice not having the stress of presents.

A firestick, and I'll add them to my streaming accounts.

Vouchers for a restaurant and coffee shop they like.

Thermals for my dad (for when he's on his bloody motorbike, he's 80!)

Pj's for mum.

My mum died a few months ago. Found the perfect Christmas present for her this weekend and sobbed my heart out in the shop, then felt stupid. Nice gift set of wine for my dad, and my time - it's the best gift I can give him.

I'm so sorry about your mum 💐

Dad socks and Ralph Lauren slippers

stepmum gin and a Xmas candle

mum earrings, big bottle of badedas and some kirsch cherries

Elerandooo · 08/12/2022 21:25

Got them a two night city break, a framed picture of their grandson from a photo shoot we had done, some chocolates and a bottle of vodka.

Peckhampalace · 08/12/2022 21:26

Mine are a bit older, but have a formula now they seem to like...jigsaw, gin and chocolates between them, book each in line with interests, fancy shower gel for mum plus dark choc, and dad's favourite sweets and nuts. If we can find something different it gets added, a couple of years ago a Canadian weather stick.

An air fryer 😀

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/12/2022 21:44

I’ve bought my dad a new coat and some thick gloves to go with it. I gave it to him early, as it’s bitterly cold where he lives on the coast. I’ll also buy some chocolates for him to unwrap on Christmas Day.

Mum died a few years ago, so it’s just dad now.

Dugs2010 · 08/12/2022 21:56

Have bought mine an airfryer.father will be 70 in January and we've bought him a voucher for 3 nights rent of a barge for them, bit different and he'll love it!

Mum is getting tickets to Pru Leiths tour, a perfume atomiser and a book

Dad is getting adopted a vine at a local vinyard, you get a tour, tasting, lunch and a bottle with that. Also getting a book

I think DH has got his parents theatre vouchers

Thanks QuiltedHippo...the Prue Leith tour tickets is an awesome idea for my parents... I never know what to get them. I will be getting these for my Mum's birthday ( 5 days before Christmas) and an afternoon lunch voucher at The Ivy in Cambridge for their Christmas present. Then they can make a real day of it. Perfect, thanks for the idea 💡 😊

I'm so pleased it helped! I've often had great gift suggestions from mumsnet. Hope they enjoy it

I'm sure they will. Going to try to get my kids to come up with some kind of riddle/guessing game type thing to jazz it up/prolong it a bit!
