If you’re not watching the football…

What are you doing instead?
I’m going to the spa - went last week when the last england match was on and it was blissfully empty!
What are you planning on doing if you don’t enjoy football?

Deep cleaning the bathroom with my wireless headphones and a large gin and tonic... I find it oddly soothing Blush

Buzzer3555 · 04/12/2022 18:07

Going to have a soak in the bath and read my book.

LikeACrapCherTribute · 04/12/2022 18:08

I'm not very well, binge watching Grey's anatomy for the first time after a bath/clean pyjamas.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 04/12/2022 18:09

The usual Sunday evening things. Got the radio on at the moment, DH reading Sunday papers while I mess about on 't'internet; we'll have dinner in an hour or so and then put a DVD on afterwards. Thankfully I have a football-indifferent DH!

isitjust · 04/12/2022 18:11

Traveling home by train after visiting my sick dad - but DH will be drinking at the pub while he watches football .. so means I will have to walk home from the station at 22.00. Which tbh I'm pretty pissed off about.

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 04/12/2022 18:12

Dropping ds at his mates in a minute then once the football starts I'm going to get into bed with my youngest (8) and watch a film! Dh will watch the football downstairs then I'll pick ds up once it's finished.

RandomPerson42 · 04/12/2022 18:12

Anything else

tabulahrasa · 04/12/2022 18:13

I’m not doing anything in particular - tbh, I don’t even know when people are playing.

TheChosenTwo · 04/12/2022 18:14

I was going to spend the evening doing chores around the house and then thought fuck it, only half of the work to do is mine and I’ll end up doing it all while dh relaxed, I’m taking the time for myself!
@LikeACrapCherTribute get well soon, never seen GA.
@isitjust can you get a taxi? It’s bloody cold out there, last thing anyone wants to do is walk back in the freezing cold 🥶 (except me I think, I love a late night chilly walk back from my station! It’s about half an hour, dh always gets cross and tells me I should have got a taxi but he’s quite lazy and never walks anywhere whereas I love it).

We’ll watch anything other than football and there are fortunately options these days. Neither DH or I am football fans. I do have a problem with it being on several terrestrial channels at once, but someone always says that it’s only once every four years. The World Cup is, but football is on most of the year.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 04/12/2022 18:19

Interestingly, I am finding the World Cup it far less intrusive in winter than it is in summer - I suppose because the fans are all watching it indoors.

LlynTegid · 04/12/2022 18:21

Off to have a sauna.

It may not surprise you that the World Cup interest ended for me earlier this week.

Yes this is so true. Hardly seen any flags on cars etc either

Weird - i did this last night!

SunflowerSmith · 04/12/2022 18:26

I'm going to visit potential holiday destinations for next year on my vr headset.

JohnsShirt · 04/12/2022 18:27

I'm watching 911 on Disney.
It's addictive, draws you in so you watch, "just one more episode", but also nothing you need to concentrate on.
I've also just painted my nails a lovely shade of pale purple.

TheYummyPatler · 04/12/2022 18:28

2 year old DS and I are watching ’the yummy patler’ (as he calls the hungry caterpillar) while waiting for a dominoes delivery.

Threadkillacilla · 04/12/2022 18:29

A YouTube doc about Assyrian city and three club biscuits, two orange one salted caramel.

MinnieMountain · 04/12/2022 18:29

Reading DS an extra-long bedtime story, then listening to old Fortunately podcasts.

LemonLymanDotCom · 04/12/2022 18:31

Scrolling mumsnet, watching Wednesday on Netflix, gonna take the dog round the block shortly, order a takeout & have a bath. What time does the football start? Want to take my dog out at the same time so the streets will be quiet.

HippyChickMama · 04/12/2022 18:32

Dh and ds will be watching the football, dd will be getting ready for bed and I am going to go upstairs and change the bed then put Krampus on and wrap Christmas presents

FloorCushion · 04/12/2022 18:33

Binge watching all the Twilight movies with dd2. Still marvel at how bad the wigs are.

VladmirsPoutine · 04/12/2022 18:35

Listen to some podcasts, bit of online shopping. I am interested in the result but I can't find it in myself to watch a 90minute match! It's just too much for me!

Hidingawaytoday · 04/12/2022 18:37

Well I've caught a tummy bug off either DD or DH so I'm in bed feeling sorry for myself listening to DH do bathtime.

If I wasn't we'd just be having a quiet evening on the sofa once DD was in bed, and watching the latest season of dead to me on Netflix.

Fantastic idea! Will bank that for another match, too late now.
I'm watching tv in bed😊
