Did your feet get bigger in pregnancy?

Did they go back to pre-pregnancy size? How long did it take?

I’m nearly eight weeks postnatal and all of my swelling has gone but my feet are so bloody wide. All of my old shoes (except crocs 😬) are quite tight round the all of my foot. Not keen on buying all new shoes straight away if they’ll go back at some point. Didn’t have this with first baby at all!

No I went up half a shoe size with each pregnancy, from a 7 to an 8. I’m now also wide fit whereas I wasn’t before. Mine haven’t gone back after two years, I’ll never fit into any of my old shoes again .

barskits · 04/12/2022 13:41

Mine did yes, the bones spread out so much that I had to have some physio on my feet. They did get better, but I don't think they ever went back to the same width they were before. I don't wear heels at all now.

MrsSkylerWhite · 04/12/2022 13:41

One of my feet did. It’s still half a size bigger 😂 getting shoes is a bugger.

Mine went up half a size.

My nose also grew. Nostrils in particular but nose in general. Nobody else has noticed (or commented!) but I do!

Boooooot · 04/12/2022 13:43

No I was a size 6, now a 7.5 2 kids later.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 04/12/2022 13:44

Went from 5 to 6, now more like 5 and a half.

Dolallytats · 04/12/2022 13:47

Mine did with DC3. I now have stupidly wide feet that don't seem to fit into any nice shoes apart from Birkinstocks and some Skecher shoes. Goodbye my beautiful DM's that my feet can no longer get into :(
It's actually depressing because I have to get ugly shoes and have to get what fits instead of what I like.
I'm going to have to shop in Hotter soon......

TheChosenTwo · 04/12/2022 13:49

The widened a little (al though fine with standard width shoes, no need for wide fitting) and went from a 6 to a 7. They never went back to a 6.

JustCakeInDrag · 04/12/2022 14:02

Yes, up half a size with each pregnancy, from a 42 before to a 43 now.

waitingwaitingwaiting2 · 04/12/2022 14:11

I was a 5 before, now 5.5-6, but it’s the width more than length that seems problematic. What shoes are good for wide fee? Honestly only my crocs are comfortable, not any of my trainers even 🫤

Mine went up from a 6 to a 7 and have also gone very wide.
Simply Be do lots of wide sizes, even dressy shoes.

Twocrabs20 · 04/12/2022 14:23

Yes, I increased half a shoe size and my feet are now wider. This is a permanent change

LiveLaughLoaf · 04/12/2022 14:25

Yup. Went up a size during and never went back. Definitely wider too. Soz!

HellsBells87 · 04/12/2022 14:26

No, my feet stayed a size 4 throughout all 4 pregnancies. My fingers did puff up a bit but went down straight after pregnancy.

stillvicarinatutu · 04/12/2022 14:26

Went from a 3 to a 4 . Used to love being a 3 because it's so small I used to get bargains in the sales ! I've recently been referred to an orthotist because my feet are horribly flat and it's causing some issues with my ankles . The physio said it's just because the ligaments everywhere stretch and relax in pregnancy so going up a size is very common .

LemonDrizzles · 04/12/2022 15:37

No, but I permanently lost an inch in height, 1/2 inch each pregnancy

InTheFutilityRoomEatingBiscuits · 04/12/2022 15:39

Yes, half a size per pregnancy and it all happened in the first trimester each time.

I went from a 4 to a 6.5 and I haven’t gone back, also have wider fit feet now and lost about 1/2 inch in height overall.

Yes. I was a 6 and have been a 7 since pregnancy. DS is 26.

Moonlightsonatas · 04/12/2022 16:07

I've got longer and wider feet now after 2 pregnancies. Was a 6.5 now at least a 7 and need the wider feet. Can’t fit into any of my gorgeous pre- baby shoes 😭

TheBirdintheCave · 04/12/2022 16:08

Yes I went from 5.5 to 6. I didn't notice until recently though when I was wondering why my heeled shoes suddenly really hurt to walk in.

waitingwaitingwaiting2 · 04/12/2022 16:12

Sounds like I should invest in some new shoes, then…what brands are good for wide feet? Mine are very wide at the front now, like clown feet 🤡😬

@LemonDrizzles i didn’t realize you could lose height! Is this why I’ve been stepping on the cuffs of my trousers with me heels??

Flaunch · 04/12/2022 16:15

Yeah I went from a 5 to a 7 and no, they never went back.

I didn't realise until we were trying for number 2, they took my height and I was baffled! Then I realised, oh ok, must have been#1!

Onnabugeisha · 04/12/2022 16:23

My feet actually shrank a size. I went from a 5 to a 4.
But my body is pretty contrary. It tends to do the opposite of what is normal. 🤣
