Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day. Unfortunately, the washer's on already as we're off out so I wanted to get it done, and it sounds like it's about to take off!

We're off to an artisan market, at a local shopping outlet, for a wander. Then a stomp round the lake with a coffee, if it doesn't rain. Maybe coming back through town to nip in Poundland, but maybe not.

The girls dad is going to put up ceiling decorations while we're out so we're not reaching over the tree like every other year.

Dd1's cooking something chickeny, with rice, when we get in & I'll finish my peg people Nativity scene ready to varnish. Hopefully dd2 might be persuaded to make paper chains to put up in the kitchen 🤔 More likely she'll Minecraft with her friend in The Netherlands.

Tonight, my mission is to complete the spikes of the crochet dino I've been making. I'm not enjoying them at all but he's sooooo close to finished!

Good morning! I’m also off out today so have my second load of washing in the machine (first load is in the dryer).

As usual dh is at work today and the two teens are still asleep. Dd8 is at grandma’s for the weekend so I don’t have my little sidekick today.

I’m just about to set off to the hairdressers to get my highlights done then I’ll nip into town to buy some new jeans and the last few Christmas presents.

I’ll then come home and relax for a few hours before me and dh are off into Liverpool at 5pm for our annual Christmas jumper night out with friends. We’re going for dinner and a few drinks and jump on the last train home. I’m really looking forward to it.

Just having a cuppa in bed, then going to get my hair done for the first time since June. Getting a new kitchen table and fridge freezer delivered today so will sort that out then my partner is cooking dinner tonight. I'm 29 weeks pregnant so will help where I can, might put the cot together if we get a chance too!

Sounds like a fun busy day. I'm drinking coffee and making DS jus roll pain au chocolate. DH was out last night so he'll have a lie in, when he comes down I'll go for a dip in the waterfall near my house. Then chill for a bit before heading into town for a brass band/ parade/ lighting the lights/ bit of shopping. I think I'll put a gammon in the slow cooker so we're not tempted to spend money on food in town.

I never usually comment on these threads OP but I'm glad I did because writing all of that down has made me feel really fortunate!

Dh is out on lads all day piss up he's under strict instructions not to come home til the kids are in bed and he's sleeping downstairs as he snores like a warthog when he's had a drink.

Teen free weekend for me and OH this weekend. Eldest is in Uni and 15 year old is off on a camp all weekend.

I should be finishing the hallway painting, but I've not been at all well, so might park that and do some cleaning (it's not even dusty or untidy), couple of washes.

OH will hit ASDA. This afternoon will be a glass or three of something and then a takeaway this evening.

Supposed to be going grocery shopping. Instead I am on my couch with a quilt over me and cat hot water bottle. I am watching 'Back to the Future'. It is great.

Both boys are still asleep. Dh is getting the decorations in from the garage. We're going to put the decs up today and then I'm off to meet some friends later this evening for an Xmas drink.

I am feeling very pleased with myself: have got the dishwasher, washing machine & tumble dryer going, had a quick 15 min workout (I tell myself 15min is better than nothing!), nagged the kids to eat breakfast, and now I’m back in bed with a coffee! Shortly will need to get up again and take DD to Brownies and DS to swimming.

Other plans for the day are catching up on Strictly, watching tonight’s Strictly, football, and as much Christmas card writing/shopping as I can manage.

Oh and I’ve promised to cook a creamy prawn/tomato/kale thing later that the DC love. And there will be wine and episodes of Wednesday once they are in bed. ☺️

Got to take the dog to the vets soon for a booster and to get his nails clipped.
DS2 will be out playing football all day and come home like a walking mudslide!
Then need to clean the house because we have friends over later for pre drinks before we go to Christmas party night,can't wait.

I’m having a cuppa in bed. DD is playing on the switch. DH is sleeping.

We will put our tree up and decorate today. I’ve printed Xmas treasure hunt clues for us to do around the house with chocolate treats. DD loves a treasure hunt. We will watch the end of Christmas Chronicles tonight and start another Xmas movie.

I will go through DD’s list to Santa today and start planning what we need to get and from where. Haven’t started the Christmas shopping yet 😅

In bed with a cup of tea. DD is with her dad until tomorrow evening. When I eventually drag myself out of bed DH and I have the unenviable task of removing everything from the kitchen and chucking it in the skip, before our kitchen is ripped out next week . Discovering your whole downstairs is flooded 5 weeks before Christmas is not fun.
When that's done I plan on having a very long hot bath and then eating my body weight in cheese and pate while watching some festive crap tv.

Good morning everyone, a very lazy day here, we don’t have any water as the supply has been cut by roadworks, luckily we had all showered and the washing machine was finished.

We’ve got some jurassic park jigsaws to have a go at later, we were due to have our last rugby tots of the year today, but so many of the kids are ill we’ve had to cancel it, the lurgy is well and truly ripping through London.

We have hot a very rare house to ourselves today, off out for lunch -just the two of us -then home to watch a film if anyone has any suggestions?

Letters to FC!! Thanks that’s the other thing I MUST do today. I am very short of time to shop this year!

i think one of the main reasons I like these threads is the number of times I think “shit yes I need to do that too” 🤣

Lazy day here. Kids are having a pyjama day as the youngest was in hospital last week and now the eldest is laid up with tonsillitis. Both are driving me mad to be honest, eldest is not a good patient and the youngest, now fully recovered, is annoyed at the attention her sister is getting.

Husband is at work so I’m doing a bit of tidying now then will try and finish my book this afternoon - I set myself a challenge to read 20 this year and I’m on number 19. Once the kitchen is tidied might put the slow cooker on for dinner but I’m not sure what to make yet.

It’s also the second anniversary of my mums death so my phone is on silent while I ignore all the ‘thinking of you’ texts and calls. I know people mean well but I just want to get on with my day without dwelling and could do without the constant reminders.

It's the anniversary of my mums passing today @icebearforpresident, many years ago now, I was only 5. Nobody remembers her passing now, just me. Love to you x

Back from shopping and watching 'Back to the Future II', under the quilt and kitty snuggled up.

I'm in the car with DH way to spend the day with my 3 step kids and 2 small grandkids. It is our Xmas day today so was up till 2am last night wrapping all the presents and felt like Mrs Claus lol. I'm very excited and really looking forward to seeing them all.

Still in bed with a bit of a hangover following a Christmas night out. I've watched a Christmas movie (the Kinsey Lohan one on Netflix, it was awful but suited my hangover) in bed trying to summon up the energy to get in the shower.

Kids are currently at football with their dad. I have about another hour of peace before they get home, then I'm taking them out late afternoon and they have friends sleeping over.

Done the early shift and taken DS to gymnastics. Then we nipped to the supermarket to get ingredients to make Christmas biscuits and cupcakes this afternoon. Just about to head down to Homesense to buy a few new Christmas decorations then Greggs for lunch. Home to put the tree up, make biscuits and do some crafting. Then watching Elf as it's our tradition to watch this as the first Christmas film.

@icebearforpresident oof! tonsillitis is the worst. Moroccan tagine is nice from slow cooker. Lemon cous cous with the delicious sauce. BBC Good Food. I use slow cooker 4-5 times a week. Recently worked out how to do cottage pie. No stock/gravy added. The meat, carrots, peas and onions all the juice needed. Mash and cheese added for the last hour on high. Crispy on the edge and melted on the top. Blinkin' lovely.

Meeting up with some old work colleagues for a Christmas get together. 2 of us have left and 1 is still there so we will probably get all the gossip 😂

I’m standing on a train platform listening to a loud speaker phone conversation that this person thinks that the whole platform wants to fucking hear.
And yes dear reader, I plan on spending the rest of my Saturday being grumpy now.
