Does anyone like this brand? I love all the different scents. I've only recently discovered them since they appeared on the Next website but have bought from ebay too. I bought a coconut hand wash with Christmas designs on, a pumpkin one and have ordered a mini warm vanilla sugar shower gel and strawberry pound cake hand cream. Yum.

I always bring myself and my nieces a haul from B&BW when I go on holiday to the States. The favourite at the moment is Warm Vanila Sugar, I do go a bit mad in there but everything is so gorgeous. The Halloween candle holders this year were beautiful.
I remember a B&BW shop in the Meadowhall Centre here, but I didn't really appreciate back then.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 01/12/2022 20:51

I discovered B&BW in NY in April and brought a candle home, OMG how I wish I'd filled my suitcase with them!

I've never had a candle with such a strong scent, even after only having them lit for 10 minutes (which is enough time for the 3 wick ones to fully melt and avoid tunnelling) they keep the room smelling lovely for ages, so much so it only burnt out last week. So you can imagine my delight when I then googled and found I could buy them in Next! It's a risk not being able to smell them beforehand and some are very sweet but I just read the descriptions and went for scents I know I like, had 3 delivered yesterday and I like them all.

They are expensive but tbh I've got a Jo Loves candle on the go at the minute which was nearly twice the price but half the size and is nowhere near as strong. I only paid $15 for a 3 wick candle in the US so was annoyed they were £30 here but was talking to a friend over there last night who said they have shot up to $25 so I don't feel too bad now.

Good news that Next in Bluewater have started selling them hopefully somewhere in The North with follow suit...

I think there's one in Livingston in Scotland. Any good?

@RhubarbStrawberry nope that's nearly as far in the other direction Grin

TheBakingBee · 01/12/2022 20:38

Are their candles like Yankee? Or do the smell a bit more high end like for example White Company?

I much prefer them to Yankee
They're not always the most complex scents but they're strong and do what they say on the tin basically
I'm burning mahogany teakwood tonight which smells like a men's cologne

RhubarbStrawberry · 02/12/2022 08:47

I want to get a small candle to try but they are double what I'd pay on next so I'll have to look out for a discount

If it helps anyone, I've just been to Aldi and they have dupes!
I saw hand cream, shower gel and foaming hand wash. There was a gingerbread latte, a winter cookies and another one. I picked up the winter cookies

Cookerhood · 02/12/2022 09:48

As a result of this thread I've done some googling & there is one at Westfield White city. No idea how big it is, but today is candle day & they are all reduced, so I'm off to investigate. will report back later.

Cookerhood · 02/12/2022 11:58

It's not candle day in the UK. Just a small concession with no special offers or Christmas soaps. Disappointing

Refrosty · 02/12/2022 12:06

I shop with them in the states. I love their foam handwashes. I love their seasonal themes. My Autumn favourite has been 'Mahogany Apple', which I can't seem to find in the UK (bought it from recent visit to the states).

Jyn · 02/12/2022 12:16

They appear to sell the twisted peppermint shower gel and body lotion here but not the spray. Booo.

elm26 · 02/12/2022 12:17

Always stock up when I go to America. The prices are so bad here though! I do know a lady who brings them back and has a lock up where she has a little shop and I occasionally order with her ☺️

£16 here, $16 USA for a body mist. With current exchange there isn't much in it.
Prices based on 2 weeks ago.

As I said upthread very few instore offers other than pocketbac refills and body lotion when I was there, and the discount outlet was still expensive.

Unfortunately the prices have gone up in the US now and with the terrible exchange rate it's only slightly more expensive here now.

Desdem · 02/12/2022 12:23

I remember B&BW in the early 90s here?

Someone bought me a ginger and orange shower gel that's lovely. The other fragrances are bit much for me. They seem very strong?

TrashyPanda · 02/12/2022 12:24

Sadly the Livingstone mall referred to upthread is in the US.

more locally (but not in the north) the Next at Stratton stocks B&B.

Jyn · 02/12/2022 12:25

Apologies $16.50. Perhaps tellingly there is no price on the country apple I’ve bought in the past.

DeepfriedPizza · 02/12/2022 12:26

I read somewhere that the next stock is not made in USA, it's Dubai stock. Apparently the Dubai stock doesn't smell as strongly. I am not sure how true this is.
There are loads of groups on facebook for people who sell stock brough back from USA.

Honeyroar · 02/12/2022 12:30

TheBakingBee · 01/12/2022 13:46

They used to have UK shops back in the 90s

Are you sure? I was cabin crew and the whole crew community was addicted to them, and a U.K. shop was never mentioned.

Its one of the things that I miss about being cabin crew. I used to buy loads, and all my relatives wanted that for Xmas. I buy the odd bit from Facebook selling pages nowadays.

Bluebellberry · 02/12/2022 12:30

I’m absolutely obsessed with the brand! I didn’t realise the Next ones weren’t the USA formula, so far most from next have still been strong though I got through Next.
I do wish they were cheaper of course, but they have far better scent than Yankee imo

warofthemonstertrucks · 02/12/2022 12:33

I love bath and body works. Having only been able to get my fix when in America was very excited to find it in next. But it's not quite as cheap and obvs not the range you can get in America.
I wish they would open properly here!!

warofthemonstertrucks · 02/12/2022 12:33

I love the candles!

Honeyroar · 02/12/2022 12:34

Aldi do a couple of Xmas copies based on them. They have candles, foaming soaps and hand creams that are very good and obviously much cheaper.

OP - Next in Silverburn, Glasgow have in an in-store Bath&Bodyworks

EvelynBeatrice · 02/12/2022 14:50

Ah. Very few of you have mentioned which of the scents you like. I read the descriptions on the Next website and am none the wiser. Any suggestions? Thanks k
