What to text back after parents RSVP for their child?

I should know how to do this however I get anxious but I need to do this stuff for my kid to have their own good life, ya know.

So after a parent replies their kid is excited and will be coming to the party, how should I reply. I don't want to just leave it unanswered.

Thank you so much!

Thanks for letting me know, looking forward to seeing you there!

Teeheehee1579 · 30/11/2022 20:49

Great, look forward to seeing him/her there!

SpottyStripyDuvet · 30/11/2022 20:50

I know how you feel. Just say "thanks for letting me know!" Or "Great! DS is excited too." Alternatively you could use it as an opportunity to ask about dietary requirements or to check they know where the venue is.

SnackyOnassis · 30/11/2022 21:00

I do the thank you and dietary requirements question!

Footballmyarse · 30/11/2022 21:02

“Great! See you then”

DragonWasp · 30/11/2022 21:03

Brilliant, see you at the party.

Or

Oh great, I'm so glad Johnny can come Tom will be so pleased. Does Johnny have any dietary requirements?

Comedycook · 30/11/2022 21:05

"Great! thanks for letting me know" is fine

MumWifeWorker · 30/11/2022 21:05

thank you would be enough but if you want to be friendly then you could mention that your child will be pleased.

Littlebelina · 30/11/2022 21:07

"Great, thanks for letting me know" or "Brill, Tom will be excited Harry can come"

Please acknowledge the text though as I get anxious myself when the other parent hasn't incase the message hasn't got through!

LeafHunter · 30/11/2022 21:11

Anything generic is fine. Great! Fab! Thanks! See them then! Brilliant! Thumbs up! Wonderful!

Survey99 · 30/11/2022 21:17

Great, ds will be pleased! Here's his gift list, let me know what item(s) you'll be buying and I'll tick off the list, or hard cash is ok to if it saves you shopping. 👍🏼

Caterina99 · 30/11/2022 21:18

I just did this. I’m sure 99% of my messages said “that’s great thank you”

Georgeskitchen · 30/11/2022 21:39

Just a thumbs up 👍 would probably suffice

melchim · 30/11/2022 21:44

I disagree with the thumbs up, it can look a bit blunt to some people.

Oh no, please don't share a gift list

Definitely not this

Snugglemonkey · 30/11/2022 22:13

If it is in a group WhatsApp, a thumbs up or heart is grand. If a test I would just go with "great, thanks".

I would have put on the invitation about being informed of allergies etc and would assume they would be putting it in their acceptance.

MeJane · 30/11/2022 22:18

I always just say 'thanks for letting me know, Lucy will be really pleased'.

Don't ask any questions or then you will be trapped in a loop!

SnowdaySewday · 30/11/2022 22:40

Don't ask if the child has any dietary requirements. Tell the parent to let you know by whichever day if there are any.

Pidgeonslipshit · 30/11/2022 22:45

Am so glad that my children were at school without texting and what’s app ..you just assumed that all the kids were coming and if not the parent called you or spoke to you outside school 🤷‍♀️

Was this serious or a joke???

Isthisexpected · 30/11/2022 22:49

Just a thumbs up? How childish.

Omg I hope this some kind of weird joke.
Definitely do not do this OP.

ILIWYS · 30/11/2022 22:59

"Great, see you then" or "Great, thanks for letting me know" or "Great, thanks" or a variation on the above is absolutely fine
