Where to hide the presents.

ItsTheSmallThings · 30/11/2022 20:14

So Christmas shopping all done, and all presents wrapped.

But we're to now hide the presnts? They are currently in DSDs room but they will have to move when DSD comes over. I can fit some in a cupboard but now all. So where do I put them??

That should be where do I hide them, and but not all

In the loft

NoDairyNoProblem · 30/11/2022 20:17

Under your bed

Lovemusic33 · 30/11/2022 20:18

I have hidden mine in my mums house. Dd always finds them if they are here 😬

NoDairyNoProblem · 30/11/2022 20:18

We have a cupboard with a lock dedicated to gifts 🫣

Jules912 · 30/11/2022 20:19

I hide them under my bed if not too big, with some strategic bedding placement in front.

In the loft

I was thinking this, but bit of a Ball ache to put them in, then take then all back down again

Oh god this is another reason I couldn’t be bothered to do my Christmas shopping so early, I have nowhere suitable to hide things!
maybe a bit of a ball ache getting them into the loft but at least they’re out of the way.

ItsTheSmallThings · 30/11/2022 20:21

No room under any bed.

I've hid them all separately before, then found wrapped presents 6 months later 🤣.

Have to hide all presents as DD is a toddler and would open all the presents, regardless of who they are for

Big black sacks knotted and sealed and something draped over as a temp measure.

KnickerlessParsons · 30/11/2022 20:25

Garage? Boot of the car? Neighbour's house/garage? On top of the wardrobe?

caringcarer · 30/11/2022 20:25

Only space they will be safe in boot of car. Firmly locked away.

Skyeheather · 30/11/2022 20:26

I've put my wrapped presents back in the boxes they came in (mostly Amazon) and the boxes are stacked up in my bedroom. I've told DC the boxes are all Mummy's Christmas shopping. They are 6 and 3 and will not go snooping, they are never alone in the house so won't get the chance.

DP wanted to put them all in the loft but I can't get up there. We don't have a proper loft ladder, DP stands on a step ladder and hauls himself up. If something happened to DP I wouldn't be able to get them!

poorbuthappy · 30/11/2022 20:27

I'm glad my kids are slightly older. This year they're going under the tree as they're wrapped so I don't have to deal!

Mykittensmittens · 30/11/2022 20:28

In the loft and then on Xmas eve, I have an inevitable mercy dash lined up where DH or I have to drop off a very vital card/gift (or even a walk) where DC have to attend. Last year it was a walk to go and find me a sprig of holly for the pudding.
while out the other parent relocates gifts to boot of other car.
when they’re in bed they are moved back in.

c24680 · 30/11/2022 20:31

You could put them all in a duvet and button it up then pile more bedding on top so it doesn't look suspicious.

Baconand · 30/11/2022 20:34

Loft at the old house - we had a proper loft ladder and lights/boarded so it was easy.

At this house we have no loft so it’s a big cupboard with shelves in one of the bedrooms and under the bed. But DD isn’t a snooper yet and can’t get in to that room by herself.

in 2020 my parents stored the big ones for me at their house. They are 1.5hrs away and we had to do an illegal meet in a car park to retrieve them when we were in tier 3 and they weren’t 🙈 Not doing that again!

courgettigreensadwater · 30/11/2022 20:39

@Bigslippers haha. Was just going to say I used to put them all in bin liners and just leave in the front porch or conservatory. Didn't even cover up. Neither DS ever bothered ferreting around a bin bag. Hidden in plain sight 🙌🏻

7Worfs · 30/11/2022 20:45

Nothing can be hidden from my 3yo so I pile the unopened delivery boxes in the utility room and will unpack and wrap on Christmas Eve after his bedtime ☹️

Whendovescry03 · 30/11/2022 21:13

We have a fairly big airing cupboard, so I clear the top shelf and stack everything I can up there and then drape a towel over them. Would something like that work?

VenusClapTrap · 30/11/2022 21:26

Normally they go in the wardrobe in the spare room. But this year we’ve got Ukrainians in there, so I’ve had to improvise. So far they are stuffed in a big chest on the attic landing that I normally keeps hats and bags etc in, with the hats and bags sitting in a pile on the floor next to it instead. The dc aren’t snoopers so I don’t have to try too hard.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 30/11/2022 21:38

Ours have always just gone under the tree once wrapped, even when the children were small. They were taught not to interfere with them, and didn't.

purpleme12 · 30/11/2022 21:39

In the shed.
Which has a lock on it

tanqueray10 · 30/11/2022 21:45

I hide them in suitcases. Kids never think to look there and it’s so easy to bring them all downstairs on Christmas eve.
