Stalker alert ...would you be worried?

I'm on Instagram and my profile isn't locked ,I have nothing to hide so didn't see the point.
Anyway a few weeks ago I noticed a woman's name viewing my story but didn't really think anything of it.
Then I realised every day for the last few months she's looked at all my stories.
I don't know her,she doesn't follow me(so purposely looking ) and I don't follow her.
Anyway I did a reverse imagine search and found the picture as a model from Switzerland (who has a different name )
So it's a fake profile
Would you be a bit concerned ?
I'm gonna now lock my profile to followers only
Do you think it's odd?

You are choosing to let anyone see your page, so random people will look. I'd say if it bothers you that much, set it to private.

What do you post on Instagram?

Who could have interest in viewing you? Ex's? Ex's new partners?

Dunno. Maybe she finds you interesting or attractive? I don’t know instagram but if it’s the same as Fb then she may be doing it accidentally. I know at least once a day I leave Fb open on one of my devices to see I’ve accidentally scrolled down and left it on someone’s story, and then it plays every single story on a loop of everyone I follow on Fb. I have worried a few times that some of my DD’s old school mates mums think I’m some kind of stalker weirdo when I have so little interest in them I’m now wondering why I’m following them in the first place. I find it more weird that people make a point of posting daily instagram stories. Why are you making them if you don’t want people looking at them??

It's probably just a bot trying to get you to click a link in their bio.

I had this a few years back, with a woman that my DH did some work for. She looked at my stories consistently, as soon as they were posted (for well over 6 months) but she didn't follow me...which meant she was purposely going to my profile. It didn't bother me really other than thinking she must be REALLY bored. She had a locked profile so I sent her a follow request. As soon as I did, she removed her profile picture (?) and never looked at my stories again so I assume she must have felt like a weird stalker and never realised I could see all that time.

Yes, it's an open account but if someone is not following you they have to search and find your profile, it's not just like stumbling over a random, and while it's not stalking, is it a bit fucking weird! In your case, someone has made a fake profile to look at your stories as they know you'd see them...

I don't understand why you wouldn't have a private profile if you are bothered by strangers looking at your stories.

Sounds like a bot that will at some point attempt to add or message you. They're rife on IG.

If she follows people from your same area then your account will come up as a suggested follow so she's probably just having a nose. Weird it's a fake account though. I'd just block and put your account on private. It only really needs to be public if it's a business or you're trying to make it as an instagram influencer etc.

Okay, don't judge me but I have a little method for helping to figure out who it is

If you go to

Add Account, enter their username, click on forgotten password and it'll send them a reminder email/text.

Do this because the pop up will give you either a couple of letters from their email and/or the last couple of digits from their mobile phone.

This helped me figure out that "cupcake lady" or something like that was actually my ex's affair partner Emma Smith as email came up as E.......H@hotmail and their mobile number came up with +44..........123 which just confirmed what I was thinking. It was helpful as I already had an inkling so could compare it to what I already knew IYSWIM

And it is weird if they don't follow you for them to view every single one of your stories. That means they probably have an alert on your account OR they are refreshing your page constantly. My ex's affair partner would watch my story within 10sec of me posting it. Every. Single. Time.
I blocked the fake page and later another one popped up with the exact same login details
Now you have the option when you block to also 'block other accounts created by this account' and it has seemed to stop them.

What exactly would it make you concerned about? I view lots of peoples stuff that I don't follow, isn't that what IG is for?

My point is it's every post
For months
Every day
So whoever it is ...is typing my name in daily to view my story
To me it's odd

Honestly what advice do you want? Either block them or hire a private detective. It’s not stalking, by the way. It’s viewing a profile that’s public.

If you only became aware of this a few weeks ago, you cannot know what she's been looking at them everyday for the last few months.

Instagram only allows you to see who's viewed your stories for 24 hours

It was 9 weeks or so ago so In my eyes it's basically a few months
If I upload a story I check who's viewed and she's been consistently looking

9 weeks is neither a few weeks nor a few months NewUserName, but ok.
