I've been up since just after 7am 🙄, spent an hour scrolling mindlessly & drinking my first cuppa of the day. I've just made a fresh coffee to take up while I get dressed.

The washer's on so I can hang uniforms to dry before heading into town.

Today's Christmas shopping for the girls day, with their dad! There may be a pub lunch somewhere along the way. I just need to remember the list of things I definitely want to pick up. I'm rediculously excited 🤣 I love Christmas shopping/planning/organising!

The girls are staying here - I bought them a few treats while I was out with dd1 yesterday & they're ready for a proper moochy kind of day.

Tonight I'm going to crochet I think, or maybe catch up with Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles, in front of the food channel. There may be a glass of wine or two as well.

What about all of you? 🙂🎄

Morning all (just)
I'm trying to sort out the airing cupboard and get all the bed linen organised (again) I have taken a sharpie upstairs and I'm marking on the labels whether they're K or D.
Where does everyone keep their spare duvets and pillows? I'm just going to put mine all on the spare bed.
There's a Christmas Craft fair going on in the village hall next door, which I'm going to later.
I put a slow cooker casserole on for DH, as I'm going out tonight.

Had a lie in, yesterday was full on. I’ve showered and had breakfast so far. DH is on a business conference call and I having my flu vaccine later.

Laundry is sorted but I’m not putting the washing machine on today. Meanwhile I’m having another coffee.

Windy and damp here.

Hope that Sky Glass is good Eliaza

Sorry for your loss Something

We went to get our Christmas tree (I know it’s early) and got all the decorations out of the loft. Gave the utility room a good clean and put some washing on. Now DH is walking the dog while I take down the autumn decorations and dust. When they’re back we’ll put up the Christmas ones, then later DH is going to meet a friend and stay over so it’s a night in with telly, wine and cats for me. Might light the fire but it’s quite mild at the moment.

I'm in the US and it's just turned 6am, my time.
Thanks to peri-menopause, I've been wide-awake for two hours 😣

Thursday was Thanksgiving and I'm on a weekend break away from home. Last night, there was a tree lighting ceremony in the city center (San Antonio, Texas) and river floats that lit up the river in a procession in the city. It was quite beautiful!

I'm awaiting the hotel breakfast in half an hour and I hope to get at least an hour of sleep before check out at 11am.

I'll be driving an hour to the state capital and visit the LBJ Presidential Museum in the afternoon. I was originally planning to walk the trails of the beautiful Hill Country or visit the city wildflower gardens but it poured with rain last night and everything is soaked. Oh well. There's a restaurant near the Library and the Capitol building that has extraordinary Texas chili. That will certainly make me happy and I'll have a full stomach of goodness while I drive the 2.5 hours home.

Have a good Saturday, fellow Mumsnetters!

@elp30 That looks and sounds beautiful!

We have only just got dressed here, done a couple of sorting jobs at home, DC have had too much screen time! Might go out for a coffee somewhere this afternoon. It’s pretty damp and cold here though.

Then tonight we will watch Strictly with some snacks which is our favourite thing to do! DS6 LOVES Strictly, he even started ballroom dancing he loves it so much.

A fairly lazy Saturday all in all, next week is my twins birthday so will be manic!

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 26/11/2022 12:28

Thank you, @AdoraBell .

So pretty, @elp30 !

We’ve had a row, my husband wants to put all the christmas decorations up so we only have to do the tree when it arrives, I don’t celebrate christmas and I think putting decorations up in November is barmy. So we’ve compromised which in this house means he got his own way and our flat is now being covered in shite essentially.

Later we’re going to temple as its Gurgaddi diwas of the 10th Sikh guru. As Grandma is still here we’re going to take my son to see the new Matilda film later as she can babysit for us, so we’ll be fleeced for sweets and drinks.

I hope everyone manages to get some enjoyment this weekend.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 26/11/2022 12:37

Not much. Made a beef casserole in the slow cooker for dinner tonight. Bought a new microwave online as mine has broken. Now just watching old episodes of Magnum!

CoffeandTiaMaria · 26/11/2022 12:45

A quiet day here, I’ve been awake since 4.30am 🙄
Took DDog out for a leisurely walk at 8, came back and enjoyed avocado and smoked salmon on rice cakes with a coffee before changing the bed and putting more washing on.
I have started sewing up an Aran cardigan for my great niece (makes me sound and feel ancient!) while listening to a podcast.
Ddog is asleep behind my chair but we’ll go for another walk late afternoon.
All very peaceful at the moment.

I've been up since 7 with the 16 month old. We've had such a lazy day! Well I've changed the baby, put a load through the dishwasher and done a load of washing but DS and I are still in our PJs. there's a Christmas market in town I wanted to take the kids too but it's raining and blowing a gale so we are sitting in the living room, DS on his tablet, DD puddling about and me MNing in between running in and out of the kitchen for snacks and drinks for us all.

FearofQueefing · 26/11/2022 15:10

I have visited our village Christmas market (raising money for the Foodbank.)

About to take DS swimming.

Then housework (boo!)
