It is today!

2anddone · 24/11/2022 13:06

Yes it's today always the 4th Thursday in November!

LaCerbiatta · 24/11/2022 13:06

LOL is Thanks Giving maybe the same as black Friday for her??

Mummyboy1 · 24/11/2022 13:07

Yep definitely today

Floydthebarber · 24/11/2022 13:08

It is today, always a Thursday. Dh got really irritated last week by my doubting that last Friday wasn't Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Which is today!

NoSquirrels · 24/11/2022 13:08

It’s today - she’s an idiot.

Thanksgiving = Thursday
Leading to
Black Friday, when the US traditionally had a shopping splurge on a weekend they’re all on holiday.

TeaAndJaffacakes · 24/11/2022 13:09

I got mixed up and thought it was last week because all the black fridays deals online started a week early!

Boopear · 24/11/2022 13:09

It's today but most US folks also take tom off.

CMOTDibbler · 24/11/2022 13:10

Def today, my favourite work days of the year today and tomorrow as there is total peace from my US colleagues

ComtesseDeSpair · 24/11/2022 13:10

It’s today. We’ve got the oil in the turkey fryer just starting warming up already!

barskits · 24/11/2022 13:10

Yes, it is today. It is always the last Thursday in November.

Reallybadidea · 24/11/2022 13:11

Does nobody in the office have access to Google?!

Fluffnotscruffy · 24/11/2022 13:12

Fairly easy to settle the argument via Google search surely ?

chickidychick · 24/11/2022 13:13

Google it. Its on the calendar

😂

Just MN evidently.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 24/11/2022 13:15

Weird that you can start a thread but not find the answer in 0.1 seconds on Google 😀

CatChase · 24/11/2022 13:34

It's today in the USA, but in Canada it was last month. A lot of colleagues also off tomorrow.

SavingKitten · 24/11/2022 13:36

How does this even need a thread? If you can find mumsnet you can find Google. Takes less than a second to find a certain answer, how can it possibly be dragging on long enough for WW3

ChristmasCakeAndStilton · 24/11/2022 13:39

US today.
Canada October.

Don't think Thanksgiving is tomorrow anywhere.

Talia99 · 24/11/2022 13:43

Thanksgiving is always a Thursday - it’s like Easter is always a Sunday. The date changes but the day always remains the same.

It was set as the 4th Thursday in 1942 apparently (previously it was apparently moved but always to a Thursday).

BackToWhereItAllBegan · 24/11/2022 13:44

It's definitely today, my turkey is in the oven and the potatoes are peeled and ready to roast!

ErrolTheDragon · 24/11/2022 13:46

Yes, no 5pm meeting today!Grin

orbitalcrisis · 24/11/2022 13:55

As Black Friday sales begin the day after US Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving is on a Thursday. That's why our BF sales are so shit, as we don't have thanksgiving we don't have a day after thanksgiving, so we don't have a BF.

Same with people asking questions on my local facebook page and waiting for random strangers to reply, sometimes with the wrong answer. Google could have given them the correct answer much earlier.

PumpkinQueens · 24/11/2022 14:08

Has anyone in your place of work heard of Google?
