do you do Christmas Eve boxes? I’ve got a four year old boy and I was thinking of doing one for him. Put pyjamas, books, chocolate in it ,
but make an inexpensive one. i know some people don’t do them. I might not even get round to it 🙈

We don't do Xmas eve box but I have a Christmas chest (not massive - it's sold as a large Xmas eve box). I have 2 kids and in it are a pair of pjs each, some Xmas books and games and our Christmas mugs. It comes out on 1st December so they get to enjoy the Christmas themed stuff for the full month.

I stopped doing an Xmas eve box a couple of years ago and changed it to an advent box because I was getting fed up with the waste. I don't really buy anything new for it apart from pjs and chocolate I just find everyone gets more use out of it. They love seeing their Christmas bits that only come out each year and it's become a lovely tradition, they're literally just cardboard boxes wrapped in paper too 😂 I put in-

Used

Christmas bed sheets (had the same for a few years now)
All their Christmas books (usually add a new one from a charity shop)
Their little Christmas decorations that go in their rooms
Their Christmas mugs

New

Pack of Christmas cards to write
Pyjamas
Hot chocolate bits
Tub of celebrations
Advent calendars

I find them quite chill unless I have to work. We wrap gifts in advance and I get the kids to prep veg for Christmas lunch for half an hour. We usually get a takeaway so not really much to do on Christmas Eve. It would be different if we were visiting family or had them coming to us though!

Xmas pjs, fluffy socks, Xmas book & Xmas mug (tend to use the same one's each year), hot chocolate cones, a small xmas teddy if i can find one, a personalised bauble for the tree, reindeer dust/santa key and santa plate (same one's each year), a selection box and a small gift to open. (Its tradition in our house to open 1 gift on Xmas eve evening)

God i would hate an xmas eve run ragged.

I tend to clean/hoover ect Xmas eve morning, do any prep for Christmas Dinner in the late afternoon although it doesnt require much because eveyone who comes to mine brings a dish or something.

All presents are wrapped and ready prior to Xmas eve.

We tend to head to the panto at 2pm, come home, prep any dinner for Christmas day and then do Xmas eve boxes, in our pjs, bake santa cookies and takeaway ordered with a Xmas movie about 6/7pm. Love Christmas eve 🎄 🎅

I imagine if you drew a Venn diagram, the crossover between "christmas eve box" people and "snuggling on the sofa with blankies, hot choccy and the famalam #blessed" people would be rather large.

This wins the best post ever award!

I’ve just read the words ‘hot choc’ 74,000 times on this thread. Finding it irrationally annoying & insufferable. I can’t see myself ever drinking it again!
