Literally can’t stand after c section?

Had c section this morning and can’t get off the bed to stand. Pain is so bad. Is this normal? I’ve read people tend to be able to get up after 7/8 hours.

It's easier to get written up for more pain medication in the ward then out of it IMO.

I think one more day would be helpful for me to have the confidence to leave.

I didn’t think I would feel this overwhelmed but I do. I can see that it’s not the right place for what is it mainly anxiety over the pain, but I’m not sure what could be done in the meantime.

Mine wasn't pain being so bad as such just the lack of strength to do it . But of course you use your stomach muscles to stand and they have just been cut through

I hope you feel better really soon OP

I honestly think you'll be better in your home environment @IsedtoK I know it seems scary and overwhelming but there's something to be said about home comforts and familiarity. Don't forget you can still call on midwives and health visitors - and you should if you need that support, but experience (3 babies and PND) tells me you won't get that on a post natal ward.

If you're feeling very anxious about the pain then take the oramorph. Why don't you want to? It doesn't make you feel high or out of it, it just stops things hurting so much which allows you to think about other things. You might find just one dose is enough to start recovering mentally as well as physically, or you might need it for a few days.
