This bloody cold - it's flattened me

Started with a cold over the weekend and work up today feeling properly unwell. Headache, sore throat, nose/sinuses blocked solid, cough like something from a consumption ward. Tested negative for Covid (though honestly I didn't feel this bad with Covid!)

Anyone else have it and want to share my misery? 😭😔

Similar here - thumping headache, earache, throat like sandpaper, hacking cough, sore tongue (?) - I've actually lost my voice which is making Teams calls interesting. It even woke me up with burning lungs on Monday night, although not last night thankfully, that was just coughing all night so absolutely exhausted. Also tested negative several times.

My teeth are even aching. It's bloody miserable 😭

Trying to gather the energy to go back to bed but the stairs are taunting me!

It's awful isn't it? My cough sounds like I'm trying to evict my lungs and my sinuses have started to hurt today. Also have nearly lost my voice.
One of the mums at school said she's had it for 3 weeks 😱
Tbh I think this is my first proper cold this year so I think that's why it's so bad.

Hope you feel better soon too! My poor sister has had a cold for about three weeks - she went to the OOH yesterday and it's turned into a chest infection so keep an eye on yours.

If the sodding face ache would bugger off I'd feel so much better I think! 😭😭

On the plus side, it has given me the excuse I need to get out of the office Christmas party next week, can't see for a minute I'll be up to it by then 😁

There's something rotten going around alright. DH has been miserable, and two of DD1's friends were sent home from P1 for falling asleep during play time!!

Now I have covid so it seems we have both going through the house, this will be fun :/

Yes and everyone I've spoken to says: 'there's a lot of it going around at the moment' made me laugh when the 4th person said the exact same thing! Blocked sinuses is painful, my face feels like its 20 times it's normal size, ears ache, glands are swollen and my throat feels like I've swallowed sandpaper. I'm starting a new job on Monday so am necking meds and vitamins. Hope you feel better soon, it is rubbish 💐

It's probably the RSV virus - which is a horrible fluey sinusy cold. it's going round and my son had it (he gets swabbed whenever he's ill so we know exactly what he has), then we had it! So it's defo going round.

I have it too 😭 I've had it for three days now. I was up all night coughing and now my chest and back hurts. All my skin hurts too! Tested negative for covid though. Awful!!

I want to go back to bed so badly, but we've had a plasterer start today that we've been waiting for about 6 months. So I'm surrounded by dust and his thumping and crashing about as well 😩(but I'm very pleased he'd finally here).

All my skin hurts too @GeorgiaGK which is a new thing for me. Bloody awful cough and temperature too but it’s the sore skin that’s bothering me most.

Had the same recently OP - tested negative for covid, it was worse than covid, and my covid was bad! I was bed-bound for over a week, totally out it, so much pain, only recently able to leave bed, over a week after that i'm still unwell. Don't know if it was a really bad flu or something worse.

I have this including the sore tongue. Even toothpastes hurts my tongue. Anti inflammatory Ed help the most. Naproxen/ ibuprofen from over the counter.

I have it - just after Ds14 had it. Bedridden, sore throat no energy, cough, blocked sinuses. Awful. Negative for Covid.

My DS (17) has had it and it was awful for at least 10 days. He had an awful cough - also negative for covid.

He was especially gutted as he started his first job about 2 months ago and he had to miss 3 shifts - he genuinely couldn't have worked - fever, dizzy and awful headaches. Luckily his work were very understanding and actually sent him home when he tried to go in.

He has been feeling better for about a week but still has a stuffy nose and still coughing.

Yes! A week pretty much in bed and I'm the sort of person who usually pushes through things, a week of doing the basics of life but falling asleep on the sofa about 7.30pm and then a week of managing to go to work, take kids to activities, catch up on the washing and actually cook a proper meal but feeling utterly drained and worrying that I'd be like that forever. Week 4 now and I still have a hacking cough but have been to the gym every morning this week and have a spark of life about me again

Sounds like what I’ve had - started Halloween night, cold and shivery, feeling seriously rough. Had 2 days in bed - unheard of for me. Horrible, exhausting cough, zero energy.
Finally feeling a lot better, but I’ve still got the cough.

Two negative covid tests.

I'll join. I hardly ever get colds and this is the second one in a few weeks!!! Feel horrendous. Currently wrapped in a coatigan and a dressing gown and need to go out in a minute

Me too. I have the most painful sinus headache and I just can't shift it. Every tooth aches and my eyeballs so sore!

I've read the article recently somewhere about the people getting more ill with common cold could be related with covid. It's not because we hadn't been exposed to common clod etc due to lock down, but to do with covid weakening our immune system, according to the article.
I haven't had covid yet, and I haven't had bad cold or flu for years either.
