It's a staple right?

No

vodkaredbullgirl · 14/11/2022 21:07

🙄

NearLifeExperience · 14/11/2022 21:07

Been on Mumsnet 10 years and don't own a single piece of Joules clothing, so I think I'll survive.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 14/11/2022 21:08

I think the vast majority of mumsnet will be just fine without it.

Changechangychange · 14/11/2022 21:08

Seasalt these days, do try to keep up.

ShopoholicIn · 14/11/2022 21:09

I will miss it

Christmaslover2022 · 14/11/2022 21:10

I love joules

BloodAndFire · 14/11/2022 21:14

I've been on and off mumsnet for 13 years and I don't think I own anything by joules. Nor by fat face, whistles, jigsaw, boden, cos, or ghost. I think this is a very outdated stereotype.

PuppyMonkey · 14/11/2022 21:24

We’ll all just have to find other shops to be sneery about I guess, what larks.

Fufumcgoo · 14/11/2022 21:42

Who said anything about being sneery?

OP posts:
ofwarren · 14/11/2022 21:47

I've never bought a piece of Joules clothing. Hardly ever see it recommended on Style and Beauty either.

xJ0y · 14/11/2022 21:50

Is it definite it's gone

It's in administration so looking for a buyer at the moment.

PuppyMonkey · 14/11/2022 22:22

Being sneery about Joules and Seasalt and Boden and Fat Face is a rite of passage on MN - check out the other thread running on it today.

dontgobaconmyheart · 14/11/2022 23:19

Probably complain about the decline in quality at Boden instead and link dubious items from there to sneer at or start new threads about - what were they thinking, who on earth would wear this, I've bought one for each day of the week etc etc.

I don't shop at Joules, it is very much not my style but at least it has one of its own I suppose and primarily it's a shame to see another retail closure, really feel for those entering into the administration and consultation process regarding their jobs, especially so close to Christmas in a difficult year. Hopefully it will be bought and those employees spared redundancy.

TheBestUsernamesAreGone · 15/11/2022 06:50

That's a shame. My favourite coat is from Joules and I've had it years. Lovely deep pockets that fit my whole hand in right up to my sleeve.

TolkiensFallow · 15/11/2022 06:52

I had become very Garden Centre Fashion of late though so what do they expect

IHeartGeneHunt · 15/11/2022 06:55

I'm Primark and Mountain Warehouse myself.

Schlaar · 15/11/2022 06:56

Joules is not very nice or popular. Hence why it’s closing. If people wanted their stuff they wouldn’t be shutting down.

MrsArrDee · 15/11/2022 06:58

if ever there was a trope....Mumsnetter in a joules outfit...🙄

Sparklingbrook · 15/11/2022 07:08

Never owned any so I'll be fine.

I thought it was Boden that was supposed to be the MN thing, if indeed there is a MN thing. I don't think this will signal the end of this forum as we know it.

QuentininQuarantino · 15/11/2022 07:11

I loved their coats! Dc have lovely coats from there and I have some really nice tweed ones with a pretty lining.

im not the harbour top Breton and wellies type but the kids clothes were really nice.

Here's the thread but read it at your own risk-it gets a bit heated.

Alexandernevermind · 15/11/2022 07:19

I think its a shame that hundreds of people, mostly women I'm assuming, are loosing their jobs at a time of financial insecurity.
