There is a troll at the moment who is resurrecting very old threads. People aren't reading beyond the op's posts and are replying to stuff over 10 years old .
Please people , look at the date the op posted and stop giving satisfaction to trolls by posting on very old threads.

OP posts:
AriettyHomily · 09/11/2022 15:14

Bloody irritating!

Brefugee · 09/11/2022 15:15

meh. MN could easily have those threads closed to new posts and if someone wants to update they could request it be opened.

BIWI · 09/11/2022 15:15

... except you realise they won't read your thread properly either? Grin

ZeroFuchsGiven · 09/11/2022 15:16

Dont tell people what to do, its easy to be caught out at times, what is it to you?Really?

Good point well made! 😆😆😆

You are just giving them what they want, you are not the first person to start a thread about them, it is what they want lol

What are you talking about? I dont see the point in why you started this thread, it is giving the bumper troll exactly what they want Hmm

Maybe instead of starting yet another thread on this subject you could have maybe checked active to see the numberous threads already started about it!

ScarierThanBoo · 09/11/2022 15:22

I don't see the panic tbh op, some threads are very entertaining even the 2nd time around. I don't imagine everyone on Mumsnet joined up to be a counsellor or personal adviser, some just want to be entertained. Search Brian from Hull and his yoni massage, you'll like it 🤗

Softplayhooray · 09/11/2022 15:23

Mumsnet need to delete threads after a couple of years. It's so annoying finding zombie threads everywhere, then reading the zombie warnings, etc.

saraclara · 09/11/2022 15:24

Maybe you should RTF board so that you don't post OPs on a subject that's already been covered in the last couple of hours.

And yep, I got caught by one of the zombies.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 09/11/2022 15:25

Stop the cheque and LTB!

yellowstickerbargain · 09/11/2022 15:43

I've read plenty of threads about the zombie threads, but the main issue seems to be that some people aren't noting the start date of threads, hence this thread. So now hopefully people will take a moment to note the op date, and ignore if it's very old.

I've started this thread as when I've made the point on a couple of the zombie threads, indignant posters who haven't realised have said things like, "I only read op's posts" as their reasons for not noticing it is a zombie, therefore I decided to started a thread asking people to please note the dates of op's threads.

Absolutely agree, I'll also log with 101!

Ah the irony of your user name when it's me that has @ZeroFuchsGiven about your angry posts.

Also the irony of telling me not to tell people what to do! 😆😆

Pixiedust1234 · 09/11/2022 15:50

I've been caught out a couple of times but now I scroll up to the post before "todays" to see if its the same month/year before heading to read the OP's posts.

mydogisthebest · 09/11/2022 15:52

ZeroFuchsGiven · 09/11/2022 15:16

It's really not that easy to be caught out. You only have to look at the first post and see what the date is.

Posters that don't read the whole thread and then post drive me mad anyway. They either say something that has been said a million times before or they haven't read the later posts from the OP so just post rubbish.

READ THE THREAD and if you don't have time to or can't be bothered then don't post

toastedcat · 09/11/2022 16:17

What strange ideas of fun some people have! (The troll)

Travis1 · 09/11/2022 16:20

Didn’t realise mumsnet had employed thread police

DannyGary · 09/11/2022 16:26

Travis1 · 09/11/2022 16:20

Didn’t realise mumsnet had employed thread police

So are you happy that so many of the threads currently in "active" are from 2007?

Is it OK that people with genuine issues needing a bit of support today won't actually get that because their threads have been bumped off the list by a zombie troll?

MsFogi · 09/11/2022 16:28

Troll aside, I love a good resurrected thread - it would be a pity if MNTowers closed threads that are old. As for RTFT - no one has time to read the entire thread every time they post on MN.

Cattytabby · 09/11/2022 16:31

Travis1 · 09/11/2022 16:20

Haha. The MN thread police are better than the actual police.

DannyGary · 09/11/2022 16:31

@MsFogi

But surely you can check the date on the OP? even if you can't actually be bothered to read any of the replies

RudsyFarmer · 09/11/2022 16:32

There’s no way I’m wading through loads of posts saying the same thing. I do often press ‘see all’ though and read just the OPs. Is that acceptable?
