Tips for cleaning a washing machine after dyeing clothes

Any tips for getting all the dye out of a washing machine after dyeing clothes please? Previously I've had washing pick up colour days or weeks later despite giving it a really good clean and no dye appearing on other items immediately after washing. Thanks!

I’ve never had this problem. After using a dye I put the machine on a hot wash cycle and all traces of the dye have gone.

I do a hot wash aswell.
Make sure the rim is clear of all dye

Give the machine a long hot empty wash with a squirt of bleach before dying. The problems arise afterwards because the dye clings to bits of powder and globules of liquid detergent already nesting in the pipes.

I always followed packet instructions and never had a problem. I suppose using several dye catchers would help with loose dye.

I dye a lot of stuff. You're supposed to do to cycles anyway and that should clean it. I then do my next wash as darks only and it's never been a problem.
