We've got panto booked
Huge pre Xmas family lunch in Oxford coming from various UK locations
We always have a week in Cornwall for new year

Really looking forward to it this year, it's been a bit of a slog.

Christmas light show at a local forest on 27/11 to kick off the desirable season.

Collect and decorate tree then out for a pub supper on the first weekend of December.

Winter wonderland in Hyde Park 10/12.

Tulleys Farm Santa experience 18/12.

Ice skating, pizza express and driving around the lot up houses locally on Christmas Eve.

I absolutely love Christmas and having something to look forward to on every weekend is lovely.

We will fit in 'the big' Christmas shop, which is the ONLY time I take DH and DC to the food shop 😂 because there is no actual food or meal planning involved. Simply indulge in treats and drinks we don't usually have.

Meant to say Festive season! 😂 but it's is my most desired season so 🤷🏻‍♀️

favourite Christmasy type holiday?

RhubarbFairy · 07/11/2022 18:23

We're going skiing. We fly to Austria on the 23rd and home on the 30th.
We only take hand luggage so the DC know that any gifts need to be small enough to fit in the case.

Very excited at the prospect of a white Christmas.

Doughnuts68 · 07/11/2022 21:53

Lovely enjoy

I’ve not booked anything yet, but will certainly be taking the DC ice skating as we do that every year.

will probably do a couple of festive national trust days with the extended family. That’s about it so far.

4 baby/toddler class Christmas specials, a baby play and meet santa thing that we did last year, a day out to a Christmas Market, light trail and buffet, a day out to a big indoor and outdoor play place with a santa visit, breakfast with santa and Toby Cavery

Namechanger965 · 07/11/2022 22:03

Disney on Ice
Breakfast with Santa (at harvester, DD hates cooked breakfast and they do cereal)
Chester Christmas market and Chester cathedral Christmas tree festival

Plus our local library has a teacher who used to do story time on Saturdays and he’s back in the weekends running up to Christmas for Christmas stories so we will go to a couple of those.

We are going to Lapland at the start of December, unbelievably excited and can't wait to see our sons face when we get there.

Doughnuts68 · 07/11/2022 22:26

abw - any tips for Lapland?

We've not been before but joined the 'visit Lapland' group on Facebook and some very good tips on there!

AuntieMarys · 08/11/2022 13:17

Just adults here so hopefully lovely walks, pubs, 3 gigs booked in December and meals out

AriettyHomily · 08/11/2022 13:29

We've got a butlins short break after the schools break up and before Christmas, kids are borderline too old and have been asking to go back for ages.

The local English heritage light trail, panto, ice skating. Too old for FC now.

We always go for a drive Xmas Eve to look at the lights.

Thereisnolight · 08/11/2022 13:36

Paid things: ice skating, a show, lunch/dinner out, night away somewhere.

Unpaid things: school play, festive church carol service, city/houses lights walk, wintry family walk followed by hot chocolate, playdates with Christmas movie.

Ponderingwindow · 08/11/2022 13:36

walking light trail

local place that puts on a 30 minute light show on a loop every night

visit the houses in the area with orchestrated light shows, we do this over several nights

i really like Christmas lights and cold weather

Saladd0dger · 08/11/2022 13:39

Longleat Festival of Lights and a trip on the Santa train. Expect I will be dragged ice skating to

We've got our Christmas Eve breakfast booked at Toby Carvery and that's it. My dc are too old for Santa visits.

I know this isn't the point of the thread but I didn't realise Toby Carvery do breakfast. Are their breakfast Yorkshire's different to the lunchtime/evening ones?

Florencenotflo · 08/11/2022 13:50

@Jijithecat the breakfast yorkies are amazing! The ones in our one sometimes have a bit of onion in the batter. Also... breakfast gravy. It's amazing. The best thing they do 😂

peachescariad · 08/11/2022 13:55

Panto on Christmas eve with my 3 adult DC (23, 21 & 20) for the first time ever 😂
Going to matinee so they can all go out partying after.
