Just been bitten by a spider!

I've just been bitten by what I think is a noble false widow. Happen to know a little bit about spiders as I find them fascinating and am on quite a few spider ID groups. Was laying under the covers and felt a mild pain on my upper inner thigh. Took my shorts off and lo and behold there was a spider in my bed!! Happened about 30 mins ago and the whole area around my upper thigh is pulsating. Anyone had this before? Finding it quite fascinating but also a bit creeped out!

Buggers are everywhere atm aren't they!?

Just a little creeped out? I would be screaming around the house!

My house is really old and I also have the windows open a lot so I find them everywhere. I actually quite like them when they're not biting me!

Did you kill the spider? I've just had a look online, and the advice was to remove it using the paper/glass method and release it outside some way from the house!

karmaisacat · 05/11/2022 23:25

Can you see the actual bite and see it’s a standard spider bite? Cheeky thing just sitting there after biting you!

Haha I'm not really a screaming around the house person. I'm more of a 'well this is cool and a bit weird' person re spiders.

Well I won’t be sleeping tonight now!!

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 05/11/2022 23:26

Hope it's not been killed!

Alexandernevermind · 05/11/2022 23:26

I wish I could be more like that. I can't even look at photos of them. It might be worth taking an antihistamine, just to reduce the reaction.

I put it outside but just used a bit of paper without the glass. I don't kill anything. Not even flies or mosquitos. Just can't bring myself to!

Make sure you wash the bite area

My leg is pretty red, the redness is about the size of the rim of a pint glass. Lump in the middle but can't see any holes. Definitely not like any bite I've had before though!

I had one on my foot, it was weird for a couple of hours then just irritating like any gnat bite. Could see the two indents really clearly, I'm not a spider fan but found that fascinating!

I've washed it and now have some ice on it. Bloody spider!

I've taken a photo which I'm very sorry to say I will not be sharing as it also features my pubic hair, and can see two distinct holes when I zoom right in! Am I weird to be completely fascinated by this?

I was bitten by a tiny spider a few years ago that was in my leggings. It was under a inch big and brown so not poisonous but bugger me it hurt for hours. Like a bee sting. There was no redness.

SNWannabe · 05/11/2022 23:33

You could take an antihistamine. Help you sleep and reduce any reaction. Watch out for tingly feelings in the next few weeks and maybe you’ll develop spidey senses. Oh and webs shooting out your wrists…

I'm banking in this so may also hold off on the anti histamines incase it ruins my chances.

Draw a ring round the red area and write a time on it.

Donttalkimcounting · 06/11/2022 00:04

Wait, what? You had a massive spider playing around in your crotch....

I mean, how did a spider get underneath your shorts to bite your vag?

This is a wind up. It's just not right.

Get help. You need help for something 😱

Absolutely not a wind up! They're very loose cheap satin pyjama shorts I got from primark about 10 years ago!

Donttalkimcounting · 06/11/2022 00:17

Oh well if they're from Primark that explains the pubic hair biting spider situation and I stand corrected 😂 😂

Guess just wait to see what powers you develop!

In all seriousness, spiders can give nasty infections so do keep an eye on it.

Chloefairydust · 06/11/2022 01:36

My DM got a nasty infection from a spider bite a few years ago, it turned into an open weeping boil/ulcer type looking wound with green and yellow pus oozing out of it, it was really gross. Was also very painful. DM had to get antibiotics from her GP, he said spider bites nearly always result in nasty infections as their mouths are very dirty and covered in bacteria (they eat flies). When they bite the bacteria is injected into your body🤢… So please keep a close eye on the wound and the first sign of infection go get antibiotics!

MightyOaks · 06/11/2022 01:40

Omg I would've squashed it whilst crying & screaming simultaneously 😩 Despise them
