Just been bitten by a spider!

I've just been bitten by what I think is a noble false widow. Happen to know a little bit about spiders as I find them fascinating and am on quite a few spider ID groups. Was laying under the covers and felt a mild pain on my upper inner thigh. Took my shorts off and lo and behold there was a spider in my bed!! Happened about 30 mins ago and the whole area around my upper thigh is pulsating. Anyone had this before? Finding it quite fascinating but also a bit creeped out!

I'm not sure if it's better or worse to be able to shoot spider web from your fanny as opposed to from your wrists.

But I guess you'll find out soon enough OP! Let us know ...

Op please be careful, how are you feeling today?.

I know 3 people with bites and they all needed antibiotics and two in hospital on iv drips.

If you let false widow roam free they colonise incredibly quickly and by sheer volume of number's you will get bitten like this. They're not like other spiders, and they're the fastest growing spider in Europe .
Scientists are re assessing their venom because of huge numbers of people who end up unwell.

Really anyone with a colony should get on top of it and bring numbers down.

I'm absolutely fine today. Still a bit sore and the redness has spread a bit but nothing awful. My cousin was bitten by a false widow (she took a photo of the spider and it was confirmed by someone who knows their stuff!). She was also fine. Lots of people in many countries manage to live alongside dangerous animals and bugs. If the worst we have is a false widow we are very lucky. Nobody has ever died from a false widow bite. I believe one person has died due to infection in the UK, however that was very unlucky. Lots of people killed by dogs every year. Not sure if you can tell that I love all animals, even the creepy ones!
