Help me like coffee

I really like the smell of coffee.

I am 24. I tried drinking it when I was a bit younger and hated it, too strong

I've got a more 'adult' taste Grin so was wondering how to like it as I bought a flat white with no sugar from Star Bucks - loved how frothy it tasted but the coffee was a bit too strong

What type of coffee might I like?! There are so many - Mocha, flat white, Americans, etc etc I'm confused by

Sincerely, a very tired carer who does need caffeine

Get a half strength cappuccino. So you get the froth, the chocolate, less caffeine taste, good dose of milk.

Well, I tried a skinny latte and loved it :)

Tried a flat white again the day after I had one from StarBucks... for some reason I was fancying it despite finding it a bit strong!

Weirdly very proud to say I now love a flat white! Really enjoyed my last one and having one now (I've been up since 3.30)

Thank you everyone Grin

I wouldn’t bother OP. It’s not very good for you and is extremely expensive.

Coffee is actually very good for you.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine:

  1. women coffee drinkers are less likely to die from coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.
  2. caffeine is not only linked to a lower chance of developing Parkinson’s disease, but it may also help those with the disease control their movements.
  3. both regular and decaf coffee seem to have a protective effect on the liver.
  4. dark roast coffee decreases breakage in DNA strands, which occur naturally but can lead to cancer or tumors if not repaired by your cells.
  5. one in 23 women develop colon cancer. But researchers found that coffee drinkers — decaf or regular — were 26% less likely to develop colorectal cancer.
  6. almost two thirds of (Americans) living with Alzheimer’s are women. But the caffeine in two cups of coffee may provide significant protection against developing the condition. In fact, researchers found that women 65 & older who drank two to three cups of coffee a day were less likely to develop dementia in general.
  7. for women, drinking at least one cup of coffee a day is lowered stroke risk, which is the fourth leading cause of death in women. All good news for coffee drinkers!

My old Starbucks order was an Espresso con panna. Essentially it's a shot of espresso, same amount of boiling water plus a shit tonne of sugary whipped cream on a biggish cup. It's basically dessert and an adults version of a baby chino. If too strong ask for more water.

I used to hate coffee then grew to like it at uni, now I'm an absolute addict 😆

I started with the ultra sugggary festive ones that basically don't even taste like coffee then naturally over time reduced the sugar content and taste. I still really like lattes etc but I also drink flat whites and cappuccinos without sugar and when my husband gets the really sweet frappes I baulk haha.

So it can be done but it does take time.

I can't drink it. I love the smell, I like it in desserts and cakes, but can't drink it.

@MyMumSaysALot

Brilliant!

My addiction has been validated, cheers! 😆

I love the smell but hate the taste too. I wouldn’t bother, anything that gives you a headache when you don’t have it isn’t right to me.

Start with a French Vanilla from Tim Hortons. Basically doesn't even taste like coffee, more marshmallow 😅
