Wordle, Quordle, Octordle starting words?

Some clever Mumsnetter shared 4 words earlier this year that were brilliant starters!

1. Lunch?
2. ?
3. ?
4. Gymps

I've been ill & it's driving me nuts that I now can't remember the first 3 words clearly.

Any idea?

I didn't see that thread but I like STEAM and AUDIO.
Also ADIEU and PEONY.
That said we have a rule in our group that you have to start with the previous day's answer.

I like REACT, NASTY and OPIUM
It was NASTY once. The only time I have got it in one.

I try for minimal vowels in my first word or two, they are usually easier to guess later. Mostly use ghost, drink/drank or chimp/chump.

For quordle, I have two starting words I always use:
ADIEU, and
STORY

I like to do them both, as it covers all the vowels and a few top consonants.

with wordle I always start with ADIEU.

Ah yes, I use AUDIO mostly & sometimes ADIEU on Wordle.

I think it's Quordle & Octordle that had the majority of the alphabet covered with these 4 key words & it was brilliantly effective!...

....Unless you can only remember 2 of them 🙄

I do Route followed by Snail.

Mine is PIANO
Very useful for the odd word ending in O!
Although there have been way more ending in Y (I am that sad person who keeps screenshots) so I may have to
rethink 🤔

For Wordle I always start with AUDIO.
If I get 1 or 0 letters green or orange, I try RESTY as my second word.

For Octordle, I start with the following 5-letter words which have no common letters, DOETH, PRICK, BALMY, SWUNG.

For me it's CURIO and YEAST. The letter C crops up surprisingly often.

For Quordle, I use
Trove
Bandy
Skimp
Churl

I start with one randomly, trying to make sure it has A, E and something like S, T and R in, so often stare, but other words too.

I did get it in one a few weeks ago, because I used grave as my starting word and that was the word.

Although a PPs comment about fewer vowels as they're easier to guess later is interesting, might try that.

Just done todays, some of you must have got it in two based on the starting words here!

I do Alien followed by youth

Usually start with 'house', then if 'e' not last letter 'dairy'.

SWEAR
MOUND
FIGHT

Gets 15 commonly used letters in 3 goes.
I then might use BLACK or PICKY if I still haven't a clue
