Wordle, Quordle, Octordle starting words?

WhiteWhiteWhite · 03/11/2022 13:08

Some clever Mumsnetter shared 4 words earlier this year that were brilliant starters!

  1. Lunch?
  2. ?
  3. ?
  4. Gymps

I've been ill & it's driving me nuts that I now can't remember the first 3 words clearly.

Any idea?

STARE/TEARS
then GHOUL

Clawdy · 03/11/2022 14:53

I use RAISE, SAUCE, RATIO, ROGUE.

ChandlersDad · 03/11/2022 14:57

Corny
fight
juked
psalm

Brbreeze · 03/11/2022 15:00

Stare, pound, flick for me

SE13Mummy · 03/11/2022 15:08

I quite often use ADORE and MUSIC as my first two words.

Sunbird24 · 03/11/2022 15:11

Rates, pinch, mould - 15 most commonly used letters of the alphabet in 3 words.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 03/11/2022 15:12

I use adieu chomp tryst.

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 03/11/2022 15:34

I stopped doing Octordle and Sedecordle specifically because I had a set of 4 words that covered 20 different letters. When I had done that, it was almost impossible to fail, which made it actually not that much fun.

I find Wordle, Dordle and Quordle more of a challenge because driving out those letters is a much more dangerous tactic.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, these are the words:

FIGHT
WACKY
BLOND
SUPER

antshouse · 03/11/2022 15:46

Audio
Styme
Prick, Pluck, Plank,
depending on results of first two.

LetItGoToRuin · 03/11/2022 16:00

I use:

Wordle: ARISE

Quordle: FAIRY SPOUT WENCH

Octordle: WEARY THING DUMPS BLOCK

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 03/11/2022 16:05

Train
Close
Pudgy

AntennaReborn · 03/11/2022 16:06

You would not waterboard this out of me IRL, but since my main competition is DH and I'm very sure he's not on MN, my starting word is THURL

It's brilliant for ruling out a lot of letter combinations, and I often manage 3 or fewer guesses

SquigglePigs · 03/11/2022 16:09

Louse then Train
Or
Arise then Touch
Worgle - Arisen then Plough

WhiteWhiteWhite · 03/11/2022 16:18

I'm liking the different tactics here everyone!

I'd share mine if I could remember those two damn words!!!

I do LEAST then PROUD then CHINK

petalpower · 03/11/2022 17:09

On Wordle I use raise then touch.

Scrumbleton · 03/11/2022 18:25

Another vote for state then found if no matches

Scrumbleton · 03/11/2022 18:25

Typo - sorry - meant stare

senua · 04/11/2022 09:15

I tried the new tack today on Wordle. I normally start with vowel-heavy words but today I started with consonant-heavy words. I got it in three!

There again, I got it in three yesterday, too, because that was a vowel-heavy answer. I probably shouldn't try to extrapolate from only two days' example.Grin
