My cat has pooed on the hob!

I'm gobsmacked. She is always shut in the kitchen overnight and normally uses her catflap to go out, so we don't have a litter tray. There have been no accidents in the last 4 years. The rain was heavy last night, but why the hob?

Because cats are superior and they have worked out how best to wind up humans. I think your kitty is sending you a message and you need to find some better food and more luxurious bedding and toys to restore the peace.

Could be a case if it's somewhere she doesn't eat or sleep.

The weather was terrible last night so I'd guess she just couldn't face going out and chose a safe place up high.

Hopefully you have a ceramic or induction hob that's quite easy to wipe

This reminds me of the time that one of my two cats pooed on the plug hole of the bath. They had a litter tray. I was sat on the toilet doing my business and I honestly thought my eyes were broken 😅😅😅

It’s so annoying isn’t it when they poo somewhere random.
Sparklingcat has the choice of 2 litter trays and did one on the living room rug. 🤷‍♀️

Ours has done it in the bath. Wee over the plug hole then poo at the other end. He then spent ages trying to bury it. He was clearly bothered by it. Didn’t get cross because at least you know it is there and he isn’t hiding somewhere and doing it.

My cat 💩 in the bath when he won’t go outside, I brought a litter tray for the bathroom, it’s a corner one so tucks in fairly neatly.

We had a cat when I was a kid who would perch on empty saucepans and have a widdle. Whilst looking you dead in the eye.

Vet couldn’t find anything wrong with him medically, and his conclusion was the cat was just an arsehole.

We went away for a week and had someone coming in to feed our cat. Everything was fine, we came home, no "mess". Only after we were home did she go upstairs and take a shit in the centre of our bed. I assume as a "how dare you leave me" protest.

Mine did a shit behind the front door. On the carpet, which now has a faint brown rainbow pattern as I only discovered said shit upon opening the door when I got home from work.

I was greeted by a cat turd in the middle of the kitchen floor first thing yesterday. Got three cats, all have access to outdoors. No idea why.🙄

My cats have a cat flap but also a litter box. They don't seem to mind the rain much but they use it on the odd occasion. I think you should consider getting one.
