Name changed for this one..!!

... when he sorts out an ingrown hair in the depths of your bumcrack, BEFORE you've even had a bath! True devotion. 😍😂

Tell me your confirming stories of true love.

Few months into our relationship my car went bang. Recently newly self employed I knew I wouldn't get car finance. Dh got me a car in his name and I paid! Was years later we actually found out that is illegal!!
😱

When he brings you wine and skittles on his way home after you've moaned about your work day. Screw flowers.

BananaInPyjamasAreComingDownTheStairs · 01/11/2022 22:22

I don't know why mine all centre around my arse, but at the start of my postpartum sepsis, we were waiting with one of those little caddy van paramedics for the big van paramedics to come and take me in to hospital and I was in too much pain to get out of bed. I was busting for a piss and wearing Tena pants instead of a maternity pad, so I stupidly decided to do it in the nappy. Of course it couldn't absorb the flood in time so leaked onto the bed.
I was mortified and had to ask the male paramedic to leave to room while DH literally wiped me up, changed my nappy and sorted the bed. I can laugh about it now!!

That is a man who truly understands you.

IWasFunBeforeMum · 01/11/2022 22:25

He defrosts your car just so you don't have to 😍

BananaInPyjamasAreComingDownTheStairs · 01/11/2022 22:28

Oh I remember a non bum related one!
He arranged a tank driving experience instead of spa day for my birthday!

He looks after the 5 month old baby all day and evening so you can have a spa day and meal out with your friends, when he’s been at work all week and insists he’s fine when you tell him he looks under the weather. (He wasn’t fine, he felt like shit and had his appendix out 2 days later but still insists I “deserved a break” 🥰).

MissMarpleMuses · 01/11/2022 22:42

When he makes you porridge for breakfast every day, also when he works out quietly when your period should be due just so he can buy surprise chocolate. When he kisses your stretch marks in broad daylight.

FourChimneys · 01/11/2022 22:43

He gets up early on frosty mornings to warm and scrape the car.

He brings my shoes in from the cold porch on chilly evenings so they will be warm on the morning.

We can be literally in the middle of nowhere, miles from civilisation, perhaps on a mountain, and he will produce a bar of my favourite chocolate from his rucksack.

NoWeaponsOnTheTable · 01/11/2022 22:48

He charges my toothbrush.
Leaves various treats (including wine) in the fridge.
Took my car to the shops the other week even though he hates driving it because I couldn't face going to get petrol and filled it up for me (it's been a busy wee while).

CatherinedeBourgh · 01/11/2022 22:52

He gets life changing injuries saving you and ds, and insists that he feels nothing but relief because we are OK.

MovingOnUpp · 01/11/2022 22:53

Buys all my favourite food from the supermarket.

If there’s a place on TV that I like the look of then by the next day he comes up with a plan of how we can go and visit it.

He booked the show Frozen and came with me!

Silkierabbit · 01/11/2022 22:54

When he looked after me all through my years cancer treatment everyday and now just paid for a holiday in Maldives for us.

HumptyNumpty76 · 01/11/2022 22:54

Coffee in bed every morning. Bath and a glass of wine ready when coming home from a late shift.

ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou · 01/11/2022 23:02

When you have the worst attack of pmt rage and he let's you rant at him then feeds you revels and reads you funny things off the Internet until you feel a bit more normal

ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou · 01/11/2022 23:02

He does a bunch of other shit, too, this is just the most recent

mincen · 01/11/2022 23:13

He visits you in hospital every day without fail even though it's a 45 minute drive and even when he's worked all day. That was for 8 weeks split over 5 different admissions during pregnancy.

FourChimneys · 01/11/2022 23:13

CatherinedeBourgh what a hero, definitely a keeper. I hope you are all OK now.

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/11/2022 23:19

When he brings you up a cup of tea in bed on HIS day off.

SpinningFloppa · 01/11/2022 23:21

Aww these are sweet (maybe not the bum crack one though 😬), I miss having someone who cares about me

Iizzyb · 01/11/2022 23:22

He went to the corner shop & bought potatoes & made me chips when the chippy was shut & I had soo been looking forward to a bag of chips on the way home from a night out x

BananaInPyjamasAreComingDownTheStairs · 01/11/2022 23:33

@CatherinedeBourgh that is the purest definition of hero 😍I hope he has recovered well?

He brings me a cup of tea in bed every morning. He shovels horseshit for hours to ensure I have a good supply of well rotted horse manure.
He bought toddler DS a toy lawnmower and lets him stump round behind him when hes mowing the lawn. That makes my heart melt every time.

Hexenjagd · 01/11/2022 23:38

DS and I are unscathed, but sadly he will pay for it for the rest of his life.

He has never once complained in the two decades since it happened, though.
