Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day - I'm feeling quite productive though; the washer's on, I've washed up last night's tea cups, and I'm just about to varnish the last bit of some story spoons I've painted for work. When I've done that, I'll refill my cup and tidy round the kitchen & living room.

We're not doing much today - there are three pumpkins waiting to be carved so that's the plan. Dd2 wants to print a photo of her last praying mantis, 'Pancake', to go in the frame she bought the other day so the printer's out for that.

We'll probably pop up the few Halloween decorations that are easily accessible too.

Roast chicken for tea. How exciting the accompaniments are, entirely depends on how pumpkin carving goes 🤣 If we're still doing them when the oven goes on, chances are it'll be a very simple dinner accompanied by a glass of wine for me!

Tonight I want to finish the crochet banana I've been making my colleague, there are only a few rounds left. I should then probably do dd2's pea and tangerine she's asked for before carrying on my Christmas village.

I woke up at 330 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I've been for a run with my head torch which was quite fun. Meeting my friend at the station for a bit to go for a hike. Husband is hung over after getting in late (hence me waking at 330!) so I will leave him to it and see if he's come round by the time I get home.

I need to clean the bathroom too.

Wow Op it sounds like you have a great day planned! We have 6 pumpkins to carve out (only two kids), which I know is utterly ridiculous and will make loads of mess that I will then have to clear up!

I’ve got a blue pumpkin to make pumpkin soup (delicious) and we’re going to bake some cookies!

Taking DD to a Halloween party this morning, got up early so I could shower and get some washing done first. Managed to clean the kitchen floor too so bonus.

After the party it's housework, cooking, ironing uniform and checking homework!

DH is still asleep. Bastard.

We've got a rainy morning and I'm having a cup of coffee.
Plan is to buy shoes for dc today, go for a walk, do some admin for work, chuck a roast into the oven and but first, need to put a wash on.

Celebrating my milestone birthday 🥳

Morning all. Having a coffee and a cuddle with the cat. Planning to have a big clean up today as I have a visitor coming to stay next weekend. Also want to tidy the garden where the wind blew a few things around last weekend! Nothing very exciting.

My mum got up with DS6, god bless her I'll miss her when she goes back home this week!

I'm getting up soon, need to do homework and carve pumpkins. Make sure DS6 Halloween outfit fits.
Put up Halloween decorations and plan hostipal visit tomorrow and taking my mum and her new dog back home.
Also fit in taking my mums new little dog for a walk.

Anyhoo im watching the farming programme and contemplating a latte, just had breakfast. Everyone else in bed so im being quiet. Chicken dinner later. Hopefully a walk for me.

Been up since 5.15am with 2 DC. Currently drinking my 4th cup of coffee whilst trying to get DC2 down for a nap.

We're off on holiday tomorrow so today will be spent cleaning and tidying the house, packing and changing countless nappies 😫 Also need to go and get a new tyre fitted on the car and fill the tank.

DB is coming round this afternoon to help DC1 carve the pumpkin.

Hopefully the kids will go down at a reasonable time (early) tonight as we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow and I'm knackered already 🥴

Second cup of tea, second load of washing.

We got back from holiday yesterday so today is catch up day as we're back to school tomorrow. Homework, iron uniforms, baths, cat litter trays etc. I'm also catching up on a week's work of washing.

DP is clearing a job but he'll take older two for a swim before lunch.

Shopping will be here soon. I'm going to do a big pot of ragu for dinner and then later will be popcorn and Goosebumps.

We're on a hidden cottage weekend break away in Kent, last day today. Both teens still fast asleep so I'm enjoying the sound of rain and cuppa for now, then a visit to Canterbury, maybe a hike near cottage if its not too wet. The hosts will help set up a fire pit this evening so we can soak up last bit of peace and quiet before we head back to London tomorrow.

@Fuwari I need to get in my garden to tidy it up too...it was on the list for half term but I haven't got to it yet. Probably one afternoon after work's job now 🤷‍♀️

I’ve done a load of washing, prepped a beef casserole that’s in the slow cooker, started packing for a few days away (by myself, on an art course, bliss!), fed the dog, tidied the kitchen and now having a coffee.

I feel like I've been up for a million hours already with the kids. Tbh I've left YouTube to parent them apart from occasionally chucking food at them. I've got the bedsheets washed and hung out, the dishwasher loaded and washed and now sitting wanting emptied. Just need to wash myself, visit family then come home and probably carve the pumpkins.

Given up on trying to nap. DS is having a very early nap now after being up since 4.50am. So I'm scrolling MN in bed.

Will shortly shower and get ready. Baby Halloween party at 2pm and 2 pumpkins to carve with older ones.

Lots of house cleaning to do to get prepped for the week! But mainly a chilled day. Got a bottle of red waiting for this evening.

Also have a wash on, hopefully will put out on the line if no rain keep glancing out of the window to see if it is or not. Can’t decide if it is that drizzly fine rain or not. Sat in my dressing gown still with my first cup of tea of the day. Youngest DD wants to put Halloween decorations up so will help her out later. Making a nice dish for tea I found on Instagram involving chicken thighs and harissa paste so looking forward to making that later. Planning on putting loads of clothes away at some point and prepping school uniforms, work clothes for week ahead.I have loved my week and a bit off work but back to the grind tomorrow

Considering getting down Halloween decorations, we have loads from years ago.

Enjoying my last bit of relaxation before going back to work tomorrow. Feel a bit sad that half term is already over so will be comforting myself with Netflix and podcasts. I also plan to clean the house and do the last bit of washing, but haven’t quite found the motivation to get started! I am enjoying being cosied up on the sofa while it’s pouring down outside, I’m glad I don’t have to go out today. Teen DD is still asleep, she may go over to a friends house later. I’m making jacket potatoes with prawns and salad for lunch and a pasta bake for dinner.
