Selling stuff on Vinted

Hi,

I created a Vinted profile today and I listed my first item there this evening, shoes from Jigsaw.

Do any people on here sell on Vinted and if yes, are there any selling tips they can give me?

Do you find it worth it?

Secondly, I am not sure how to price things on there.... The shoes I listed were almost never worn, cost me almost 100 pounds and Vinted suggested selling them from 10-14 pounds.

My husband thinks I set the price way too low.

You don’t charge for postage. You just say whether the items is small medium or large and it’s calculated.

I see, are you given a prepaid label?

And you would need to pay for packaging if you don't have anything you can repurpose?

If you post via UPS, Yodel or Evri, it is a pre-paid label paid for by the buyer. You don’t see the money they pay for it.

If it’s by Royal Mail, the buyer pays for postage but that money comes after it has been posted, so you do end up slightly out of pocket until the item is received. The benefit is that RM do free collections from the house though. The Vinted parcel sizes are also out of sync with the RM ones - medium for Vinted is a small parcel on RM.

Small on Vinted is Large Letter RM, and Vinted keeps trying to get you to send a woman's dress as Small (as I posted above). I've had this happen twice where sellers send it Large Letter and I've had to pay the postage excess. Once the seller tried to tell me I should have noticed and not agreed to the parcel size or that it was Vinted's fault.

I don’t offer Royal Mail any more since I had to pay more than I get back. Perhaps my mistake but it’s just more hassle.
