Bath restaurant recommendations please

I am planning a solo trip to Bath soon and having never been I am looking for restaurant recommendations. I am vegetarian, so although I'm not looking specifically for a vegetarian restaurant, I would like a good choice that does not include mushroom risotto or fake meat.

We loved Sotto Sotto.

InsertPunHere · 26/10/2022 16:44

If you can't get into Sotto Sotto, La Perla is about 3 doors down and is very nice too. The goat's cheese tapas was a particular highlight. (but then, I am pescatarian and did have a bit of fish as well)

Both are down steep stairs so not possible if you have any mobility issues.

ThreeKneeRepeater · 26/10/2022 16:47

The Green Rocket.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 26/10/2022 16:56

The Circus is nice. not sure of the veggie options.

Ah - that'll be why DB's IL's don't go there - the FIL is a paraplegic.

Thank you Smile

La Perla looks lovely, but it's the kind of place I would go to with friends and share.

Would prefer not Italian or vegan. Sorry.

Coconut Tree?

Twizbe · 26/10/2022 17:11

Indian temptation. It's right by the abbey and is a fully vegetarian Indian restaurant.

We went over the summer and it was great. Food lovely and service great.

HappyHolidai · 26/10/2022 17:11

If you eat fish the Scallop Shell is a good bet. Not good if you don't though!

Loch Fyne has also been a favourite if you eat fish or the Carluccios there is nice. There's some other place by the theatre we go to but can't think of name...

Thanks for that recommendation - looks wheelchair friendly for DB's FIL.

Wow, Coconut tree looks amazing.

As I said @HappyHolidai I am vegetarian, so no I don't eat fish.

We were there in the summer and enjoyed meals at Opa (Greek, near the bridge) and Noya's Kitchen (Vietnamese). Both had good veggie options.

Camesawconquered · 26/10/2022 17:23

Loch Fyne has been closed for a long time.

I have 2 veggie friends I see a lot. One eats fish, one doesn't. This has been the case for 25 years and they've both called themselves veggies for all that time.

So I was unsure and made a suggestion. Sorry you didn't find it helpful but it seems that someone else did.

KateLumley · 26/10/2022 17:27

@HappyHolidai your friend is not vegetarian Grin

ChocolateHelps · 26/10/2022 17:45

Look up bath comedy walk...if it's still going I would highly recommend..hilarious and a good way to see a bit of bath. Easy to do on your own

KateLumley · 26/10/2022 17:50

That sounds fab @ChocolateHelps, but only between April and September. Will remember for future visits.
