Disney plus are releasing a new one!

30th November.

Trailer is on there already. And yes Warwick Davies is back playing Willow

I loved the first film. I’m really excited about this one

Its a series isn’t it?

I can’t wait either!

Soubriquet · 25/10/2022 14:18

Nope. Looks like a new film

Ah, I wondered if you were talking about the Joan Armatrading song! (But realise unlikely)

Fraaahnces · 25/10/2022 14:19

I’m ridiculously excited to hear this!

Good film - fantasy which didn't take itself too seriously. We saw it in a proper oldfashioned local cinema which halted the film half way through so that the lady with a tray of icecream could do her rounds - exactly as it should be.Grin

LT2 · 25/10/2022 14:28

I remember it well. I was terrified of it as a child -first time I'd seen a small person!

ReedOfFate · 25/10/2022 14:30

I loved it! Val Kilmer was the object of my fantasies

Nope. Looks like a new film

I’m 99.9% positive it’s a series, not a film.

Nadal · 25/10/2022 14:34

It says series in the trailer

Soubriquet · 25/10/2022 14:36

Does it? Either way, I cannot wait

It does sound good. I can’t watch the trailer at the moment but I think Christian Slater is in it.

Ponderingwindow · 25/10/2022 14:46

Very excited about this. Going to try to get my dd to watch the old film with me, despite her abhorrence of “classics”

Soubriquet · 25/10/2022 14:47

Oo im gonna get my kids to watch it too. Dd will love it even though it’s older. Ds..not so much.

Movie of my childhood!

Apparently he is but no character confirmed. I didn't spot him in the trailer.

Well just watched the first episode and I'm disappointed. I've been waiting for this and getting excited but been let down.

It lacked the realness of the original the, lighting was to stark and bright.

Also there original was a story of family, friendship, loyalty, reluctant heros and doing the right thing even when it's hard.

This seemed to be lacking in that the main female character the princess is moody and rude. Also really regressive to have her as a short haired lesbian who likes to fight it feels to me like a stereotype.

The heart seems to have gone from this as things like the old guard getting killed are just not even mentioned by the other characters not even a NO just ride off then sit around the camp fire like nothing had happened to the person that one you all your life.

So am I the only one disappointed?

If you are looking for something to watch especially with your teens Wednesday Addams is surprisingly better than this.

Soubriquet · 01/12/2022 07:12

Ah no! I haven’t watched it yet but woke up this morning and remembered it. I’ll still give it a go. It might get better.

We’ve been loving Wednesday. I’ve been watching it with my 7 and 9 year old. 7 year old isn’t too interested. He wants to watch the last episode to see who the monster is and that’s that but 9 year old dd loves it.

Hmmmm. Currently on episode 2 and it’s ok as a stand alone but it doesn’t match up the original.

I’ll still finish it it might get better

I'm just watching the 2nd episode the only thing keeping me watching is Warwick Davis why oh why did they choose a story centered around a petulant teenage princess still maybe she won't feature much!

Soubriquet · 01/12/2022 21:07

Kit? I guess being raised royal tends to give you a complex.

Not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that she’s being portrayed as gay. Are they doing it because they genuinely wanted her to be gay or is it just to tick a box

Ciri · 01/12/2022 21:10

Right from the beginning of filming it has been leaked as extremely woke which doesn’t bode well.

we will still watch it as a family to see though

Ciri · 01/12/2022 21:12

Soubriquet · 25/10/2022 14:32

Val Kilmer has throat cancer and can no longer speak.

Soubriquet · 01/12/2022 21:14
