Is it raining cats and dogs where you are?

Because it is here. Biblical, almost!

What will you be doing on a rainy day like today?

I'm thinking a jigsaw, or something sedate like that. Waiting for everyone to get up, so I'm having a coffee and listening to every single gutter struggling to cope!

Yes it is here. Lovely while we are sat in a hotel in Rotherham but we're about to travel to our caravan holiday in the Lake District so hoping for better weather there 😂😂

itsgettingweird · 23/10/2022 10:24

It was.

Woke at 1am with the mother of all headaches.

Managed to doze off until 3 and woke even worse. Felt like I'd been hit by a bus in my sleep.

Woke up at 5 feeling like my head was in a vice.

Not long after we had a storm of biblical proportions that went on for hours.

Headache went. Sun is now out but skies are showing potential for more rain!

itsgettingweird · 23/10/2022 10:25

Should add I'm south coast central.

hippoherostandinghere · 23/10/2022 10:25

It's not raining here in NI although it has been biblical at times over the last 72hrs. We're just back from junior park run and managed to come away dry.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 23/10/2022 10:30

Yeah. I made bacon rolls for breakfast and now I'm back in bed with my light box on (trying to combat my usual annual dose of SAD) with the cat and the dog. DH and the DC are all gaming on various devices.

Will be a quiet slouchy day for them but sadly I've got work this afternoon so will have to brave the elements. Not going to bother walking the dog unless it clears a bit - he doesn't want to go out either, would normally be champing at the bit to get out, but he poked his nose out of the back door then thought better of it!

GodInventedAmazon · 23/10/2022 09:43

Where are you all in the SE? Nothing where I am

@GodInventedAmazon

I'm in a GU46 area. It rained all night! Still going. Next doors guttering needs cleaning/repairing right next to my bedroom
eindiw, thumps down on to their concrete path, it's water torture!!

they sleep the other (garden) end of the house so it doesn't bother them. They're not very approachable & wouldn't let me pay to have them cleaned & looked at last year.

I can't sleep in the equivalent room to theirs as different layouts & thats our bathroom!! 🤣

@JuneOsborne hello over here 😊

yep it is... I'm hoping for a w Cocker Spaniel puppy!! And an older cat. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 23/10/2022 10:39

South east here & it's just starting to ease up a bit.

Kitten keeps scratching the patio door asking to go out, old man cat is snoring.

DH is in bed after getting stuck in london all night due to the train power failures. I'm still nursing the monster of all colds so currently still in PJs with my second cup of tea.

Desperately need to do laundry as running out of underwear but no chance of getting anything dry & really want to avoid the tumbler but may have to relent.

Making beef stew in the slow cooker later for DH & I, fussy kids wont eat it so no idea what they are having.

Mentalpiece · 23/10/2022 10:43

Yes, it's raining heavily here.
I opened the door to let the dogs out and they looked at me like I was crazy. 🤣

Mollyplop999 · 23/10/2022 10:43

Raining really heavy here in North Notts. Spent 2 hours mucking out and filling haynets. Water was running out of my knickers when I got home. Now in dressing gown under a blanket with a cuppa. Utter bliss.

JuneOsborne · 23/10/2022 10:44

It's like a different day here, now! The sky is almost blue...

Soubriquet · 23/10/2022 10:44

Yup! I know that we already have flooding near by, and that the area I live floods easily too but luckily where I am, I’m not in danger

Armadillidium · 23/10/2022 10:47

Still raining here.

Nothing planned today anyway apart from maybe crocheting my cat a collar with tie.

Rowgtfc72 · 23/10/2022 10:50

Just started hammering it down here on the east coast. We were promised biblical rain and storms overnight but it never happened.
New puppy is 9 weeks today and hasn't really seen rain yet.
Going to crawl off the sofa soon, get dressed and prepare veg for roast. Maybe.

Livelovebehappy · 23/10/2022 10:54

Have to wait for the rain to slow down a bit, then take the dog (not mine! Looking after it) for a walk. It’s an ideal day for snuggling on the sofa, with a large bag of sensations, binge watching Netflix. But the reality is I will probably catch up on house work and washing and cooking Sunday lunch.

Livelovebehappy · 23/10/2022 10:58

Feel sorry for anyone spending half term holidays away in the U.K. somewhere. Nightmare weather for holidaying in U.K.

Cruiser123 · 23/10/2022 11:08

Birmingham here - it rained a lot last night. It stopped now.

We will still take the kids to the park today under the rain cover.

sorrynotavailabe · 23/10/2022 11:11

SW here. Not too bad now but earlier on we had torrential rain and a hefty thunderstorm....so much for my Sunday morning lie-in.

Dougieowner · 23/10/2022 11:14

Dog is having a duvet day (as he did on Friday when it was much the same weather).
Will hit the ironing this afternoon while watching a DVD.

slavetothekittens · 23/10/2022 11:19

North West and rain is battering the windows. Very dark outside, I have the lights on.

Will just be catching up on housework, certainly not going out in this lot! Cats are having a catnap.

Oblomov22 · 23/10/2022 11:24

Yes. Until a few minutes ago. Heavily. Now sunny. Rained a lot in the last few days.
But crap because it's ds2's birthday and we are off out to watch a premier football match.

iklboo · 23/10/2022 11:25

Cats, dogs, hamsters, elephants & giant squid!

Peridot1 · 23/10/2022 11:26

Lovely sunny blue skies here now. Took the dog out for a quick walk so she was happy.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 23/10/2022 12:06

Yep, walking the dog too in a dry patch!

MightyOaks · 23/10/2022 13:16

JuneOsborne · 23/10/2022 09:31

We have a foster dog. He's terrified of the rain and getting wet. He's curled up tight in his bed with an aura of don't even think about a walk' emanating from him.

MightyOaks · 23/10/2022 13:20

It's that fine rain that soaks you through, here in North Yorkshire Wink
