Anyone else got any strange things that taste like other things? I think coriander tasting like soap to some people is a common one.

@ToryChaosTheory I agree about butter that's been left out too long smells like baby sick. @Clevererthanyou I can't stand spaghetti hoops, I wonder if that's why? Baked beans taste fine though.

I once bought a breakfast shake from Sainsburys. It tasted like I had thrown up bile in my mouth. Binned the lot!

To be specific, crayfish tastes like the smell of cat urine. Goats cheese tastes like the smell of goats, obviously. I love stinky cheese but once has some very posh deli cheese that was like actual faeces in the mouth.

Physalis taste like swimming pools. But I still really like them.

It’s my firm belief that nobody is meant to actually taste vodka. If room temperature, it’s meant to be knocked back in one as a shot, or drowned out by mixers or other cocktail alcohols; the better ones can be sipped, but only after at least a night in the freezer.

I have always thought that Edam tastes a bit like candlewax or unflavoured lipsalve.

Oh, and some fancy craft lagers and IPAs taste of bubble bath or perfume.

Oysters taste like you have accidentally taken a mouthful of seawater.

Some pork tastes like rancid piss smells, especially char sui pork.

Tinned meat eg meatballs smells like dog food.
