Could Boris really be PM again?

His party voted him out, but now they want him back? Could it really happen?

Nothing surprises me anymore,
Boris did say "Hasta La vista" in his farewell speech........

Honestly if this wasn't real life it would be an amazing movie or tv series.
(Boris & the word honestly in the same post 🙈😂)

MissMaple82 · 22/10/2022 17:28

I hope so!

Nanalisa60 · 22/10/2022 17:30

Probably!!

Crucible · 22/10/2022 17:31

Will Kenneth Branagh be taking notes for a sequel? They've only just aired This England.

Mentalpiece · 22/10/2022 17:34

Sadly it's looking increasingly likely.
However, they're all as bad as each other so it doesn't really matter in my humble opinion.

Johnson back as PM is actually the best possible result. It will only be a few weeks before the lying bastard does something stupid again and we can carry on watching the Tories implode.
There is a risk that Sunak could actually make a half decent job of pulling things together and come a general election in 2 years the public may be too stupid to remember the chaos that this party has caused.

Yes great. Let’s sink the country further for 2 years before voting in an even worse party - pretty hard as tories are so bad.
If anyone comes along and does a half decent job that’s a huge win for the UK for 2 years at least. I’ll take it.

Mumoblue · 22/10/2022 17:38

If he does get back in I hope that’s the thing that gets people rioting. Isn’t he still under investigation?

Fucking clownshow, the lot of them. The tories are so out of touch they should just step aside, but they won’t.

Justcallmebebes · 22/10/2022 17:40

He lost a no confidence vote by 70%. His own party said at the time that he was unfit to rule so now he's the answer? I have no words but we, the tax paying electorate, deserve better

Lonelycrab · 22/10/2022 17:40

I don't get why he'd want to
Because he thinks he’s Churchill and it would be great for his ego.

Well, when people were clammering for his resignation there were plenty of people saying to be careful what we wish for, and we got Truss.

Personally I think Sunak won’t get in for the same reasons he didn’t get in before - because he isn’t white.

But we’re only assuming that Boris has 100 backers, this hasn’t actually been proven yet.

@CrotchetyQuaver
Not relevant to the thread but ... great user name 😀.

AlwaysLatte · 22/10/2022 17:58

I almost hope he does as I think this would be the trigger we need for a GA!

Withnoshoes · 22/10/2022 18:01

How short does the party members memories have to be? Seriously weeks ago mps were resigning and wanting him out because he is so bad and now they’ve changed their minds? If he gets back in it makes a laughing stick of democracy. At what point does someone say, no enough! Is there even someone that can do that?

I’m not that fussed on politics ( always vote but politicians annoy me) but this shabby party of a government are a disgrace and I’m so angry at what damage they are doing.

PurplRainDancer · 22/10/2022 18:01

Hopefully he will 🤞

TheSproutOfWrath · 22/10/2022 18:01

This is what they think of us in Europe.

How can they re-elect someone undergoing investigation is beyond me. Obviously have tiny memories.

Things are far from peachy in Europe. Italy has just voted for its 1st far right leader since ww2.

SunflowerSmith · 22/10/2022 18:28

My area has always been Conservative with around an 18k majority which jumped to 23k in the last election, during the summer with Boris leaving and Liz taking over I heard many people saying they wouldn't vote Tory next time but now a lot of people are saying they would if Boris came back.

It'll be interesting to see how opinion polls change across the whole country if he does become pm again.

It's horrendous. Her cabinet are disgusting. Was reading about it this morning.

Greenshake · 22/10/2022 19:03

Looks like Badenoch has gone Sunak in a very tactical move

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 22/10/2022 19:07

@TheSproutOfWrath
.I'm not sure any euro country is in a position to laugh at us really..

Worth a look at this ongoing tally of which MPs have come out to support the candidates. At the moment looks like Boris is a bit of a way of the 100 he needs...

Problem is all of these sites are offering slightly different tally results
