I've downloaded the app and signed up, just hesitant as I don't want to cock up and end up out of pocket or messing things up with a buyer. I've read the info on postage but seen listings with no postage cost so I'm confused.

No issues with describing stuff and uploading photos - I've sold quite a lot on eBay but want to save on fees.

I find it easier than eBay. Make sure you pick the right parcel size - search for weight limits. The buyer chooses how to ship. 80% of the time it’s via the InPost lockers. You print out a label (or go to a shop that prints for you I think, but I don’t have any I know) and drop at a locker - pretty easy.

Thank you for responding. I thought I had read that I could select ways of posting as a seller or am I wrong?

We have the lockers near here though, so wouldn't be an issue.

Profile > Settings > Postage you can select or deselect carriers, but this puts buyers off sometimes, if you’ve deselected the carrier they prefer.

I wish my buyers would pick that instead of Evri… I’ve got lockers at the end of my road it would be so much easier lol.

Okay - I'm with you now. Thanks for your help.

I use the inpost lockers for Evri…? Never sent via Evri any other way tbh.

I’ve sold via:
Royal Mail - now disabled purely because for large letter though it’s super cheap you don’t have tracking and people don’t bother clicking delivered
Yodel - have to take to local shop
InPost lockers - for Evri etc

Handsnotwands · 22/10/2022 14:28

I have a question too if you don’t mind?

i sold something. There’s no option to mark as dispatched (it was sent via evri)

will it automatically update that it’s been sent?

and will Vinted somehow know it has been delivered?
even if the person doesn’t mark as received?

it was quite expensive and I’m worrying

IroningThrone · 22/10/2022 14:30

You might have to click into the shipping info to mark it as sold.

elevenplusdilemma · 22/10/2022 14:40

Just remember that if you say something is the "small" packet size / weight it will price it's postage for Royal Mail based on their large letter size, so you'd be out of pocket if it's a bulky but light item. This isn't an issue with other carriers such as Evri or Yodel.

Generally it will update itself at some point. If not, once it’s been 48 hours since you downloaded the shipping info they will send you a reminder to ship ASAP, and at that point you can click “mark as shipped” and the tracking will feed through.

The Vinted help / chat will also help you add tracking but only once it’s been 48 hours.

I have just sold something on Vinted, it was delivered two days ago and it said I’d receive payment by 5pm today. It is still saying “pending balance”, I just wondered if anyone has noticed any delays with payments? I have not had any information to suggest the buyer had any issues.

I assumed they were different services, different names and that.

I found a Reddit thread that said you could drop them at the lockers but when I checked on Evri’s website the lockers at the end of my street don’t turn up, but the ones about a mile away do. Strange.

I prefer the actual In-Post option though as you don’t need to print anything lol.

WeAreTheHeroes · 23/10/2022 07:40

Eek - my first item has sold already to someone who has no reviews, so just like me.

Can I join!
Dd2 and I have complied a huge heap of branded stuff to sell on Vinted. I have an evri point down the road in Spar so assuming that's easiest shipping method for me?
I don't know what inpost is?

Is it worth ordering those plastic mailing bags?

BiasedBinding · 27/10/2022 13:01

I’ve had problems with Inpost because of the agent not coming to empty the lockers and the online thing that tells you whether they are full or not in a particular location isn’t up to date. So you can end up wasting time and money trying to find one that’s got space

Decafflatteplease · 27/10/2022 13:11

Also interested! Can anyone tell me how it works? So a buyer pays for the item plus postage but I don't receive the money until they receive the item is that right?

iloveyankeecandle · 27/10/2022 15:10

Can someone help? I need to print off the postage label at an evri store. How do I do it? I have no QR code!!

IroningThrone · 27/10/2022 22:27

You have to print the Evri label at home and stick it on yourself before taking it to the drop off.

That's right! Make sure you go into shipping options and deselect any that you don't want to use. Royal Mail usually ends up a bit of a rip off because iirc you only get £2.15 and it can cost more than that!

Justworkplease · 27/10/2022 22:34

yeah, exactly what @IroningThrone has said - deselect the Royal Mail option. I got hit with this the other day. I got £2.15 or so as postage for a pair of baby trousers - went to post them and they cost me nearly £4 to post 😳🙄

meateatingveggie · 27/10/2022 22:51

Can I ask about labels please? Is the In Post option the only one that doesn't need you to have your own printer?

WeAreTheHeroes · 27/10/2022 23:04

No because you can print an evri label at the drop off point iirc.

It's really hard to find this info on the Vinted app but you can get them to refund the difference if you pay for Royal Mail postage and it exceeds the delivery charge.

If you click on the contact link on the relevant sale and upload a photo of your postage receipt, you should receive the difference.

This isn't true in my experience - to print in store you need a QR code.

Yodel has digital labels that you load on your phone and are scanned in store. It's super easy!
