If you're a nurse are you going to strike? I think I will if it goes ahead.

No I won’t be

MissyB1 · 21/10/2022 20:16

Left nursing in 2014 but I will support a strike.

musicandpassion · 21/10/2022 20:17

I'm not a nurse, I'm an AHP, but when our ballot opens I will be voting to strike

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 21/10/2022 20:18

Yep

Plantmum2047 · 21/10/2022 20:29

@Changer25 can I ask why you won't?

I've just posted mine back to say I will and have decided I finally will. Things need to change.

If I still worked in the NHS I'd be 100% voting for a strike. However I currently work in the private sector and am uncomfortable about my vote requiring others to strike when I personally wouldn't be. Especially as private sector salaries mostly follow the NHS and so I could benefit.

Prinnny · 21/10/2022 20:36

Yes, my team of 20 specialist nurses have all voted on strike.

Prinnny · 21/10/2022 20:36

*to strike even

Lapland123 · 21/10/2022 20:37

You’ve been left with no choice but to strike, you have full support here

Anunusualfamily · 21/10/2022 20:38

I quit my job due to stress, work life balance and suffering moral injury as unable to provide the care I feel people deserve. I support the strike

dalmatianmad · 21/10/2022 20:40

I've voted to strike as have most of my colleagues.

Please still vote in favour of it. We can't strike unless the ballots are 50% on favour so you'd be really helping.

Thank you. I've spent a lot of time thinking about it but I agree with you.

No I won’t be

You should strike. You don't hold any loyalties to the Matrons nor NHS. You are not doing the patients any favours by not striking all you would be doing is enabling the wards to be ran with minimal staffing to dangerous levels, lots of agency staff on wards and moved around. NHS have no mercy for the nurses I support the nurses 100%

Timmymagical · 21/10/2022 20:42

I have voted to strike and will strike

Please do still vote. Urgent/Emergency care nurses can’t strike but can still vote. It affects all nurses

TheFairyCaravan · 21/10/2022 20:46

DS2 and DDIL have voted to strike. I’m so proud of them both. I didn’t think they would, but you all really have to. Something has to give, you’ve been taken for granted for far too long.

Twiggywinkle13 · 21/10/2022 20:46

I’m not a nurse or NHS worker but I just wanted to show support. Solidarity with you all, I know it won’t have been an easy decision. The conditions you’re expected to work in are unsafe, the blatant lack of care for your physical and mental health is appalling and the pay is a disgrace. Good on you for being brave and going for it!

Calaleia · 21/10/2022 20:47

Yes I absolutely will

ThePontiacBandit · 21/10/2022 20:47

Yea I’ve voted to strike.

It’s not about loyalty to the NHS.

i wouldn’t judge others for striking but for my own morals & principles I don’t support it. (or striking in general).

The working conditions will be lost in all this and it will be wholly focused on pay. I don’t think the pay is unreasonable.

Poppop4 · 21/10/2022 20:49

i will absolutely be striking if it comes to it!
