Cosy night in alone - what treats would you get?

DH is going out for the evening next weekend, so once the children are in bed I am going to treat myself. It definitely is a treat, seeing as I never relax in front of the TV in the evening.

I'm thinking a sparkling fruity drink (I don't really do alcohol), some different cheeses and crackers, picky party bits and some lindt ball chocolates.

What are your cosy night in treats?

Crusty bread, pate, onion marmalade.

White chocolate Maltesers Teasers.

M&S cheese straws.

A cream cake.

FionnulaTheCooler · 15/10/2022 19:55

I'd get pizza, a big bag of kettle chips and some Ferrero rocher.

Luxurysleuth007 · 15/10/2022 19:56

Copius amounts of crisps (prawn cocktail or truffle flavour expensive ones) maybe a tub of Phish Food, possibly a cider or G&T.

thefirstmrsrochester · 15/10/2022 19:57

Cheese, crackers, quince paste (with nice wine), and Thelma and Louise on the telly.

ConkerBonkers · 15/10/2022 20:00

Ooh my favourite type of night :) I would probably go for some prosecco, or hot chocolate with marshmallows, a really nice microwave meal from m and s, or if not that, then some spinach and ricotta pizza, and definitely some crisps, and chocolate, or some really nice mixed salted nuts.

Spanielsarepainless · 15/10/2022 20:01

Oatcakes and butter and some cheese and grapes. Glass of cold milk and some shortbread biscuits. Possibly a few squares (aka half a bar...or more) of chocolate.

HighlandPony · 15/10/2022 20:03

Red wine or brandy or whisky and a book. Boring. As. Shit!

TaraRhu · 15/10/2022 20:05

Glass of champagne and pik n mix!

ShaunaTheSheep · 15/10/2022 20:05

Baked Camembert, glass of red.

pheonixrebirth · 15/10/2022 20:09

I'm currently sat with a glass of wine eating slice after slice of Morrisons smoky cheddar & Tesco salt and pepper habas fritas, I am officially in savoury heaven.😋

ofwarren · 15/10/2022 20:12

Chicken liver pate with some posh crackers, charcuterie meats, some good olives and a glass of white wine.

Plushypumpkin · 15/10/2022 20:12

Ooh, I forgot the pizza, Ferrero Rocher and Cashes nuts 😉

Mrstumbletap · 15/10/2022 20:22

Tesco garlic crackers
Spicey cheese
Jalapeño jam

Spicey crisps
Sour cream dip

Appletiser to drink

Giant chocolate buttons that have been in the freezer for at least an hour.

BCBird · 15/10/2022 20:26

It would definitely involve crisps and chocolate. When I have chocolate I have to have a cup of tea with. Lovely combination when it melts🤪

KatherineofGaunt · 15/10/2022 20:28

A tub of philadelphia cheese spread and a packet of skips to dip in it - yum! Plus a donut. And maybe some coke zero.

I haven't had a night in alone in fucking years. Enjoy it, OP!!

ChocHaloTop · 15/10/2022 20:29

M&S oat cakes, rocket, Leerdammer slices, prosciutto ham, cherry tomatoes, olives. Dry white wine.

Blanket and Netflix.

DeanStockwelll · 15/10/2022 20:42

I shouldn't opne threads like this my shopping bill will go through the roof if I dint show some serious restraint !
@thefirstmrsrochester where did you get your quince paste ( jam / jelly ? ) from ? I haven't been able yo find any fir a while and the last one I was given was horrible.

For me it's brie , goats cheese , chorizo/ salami ( usually tescos deli platter thingies) pickled ginger / onions / beetroot crackers.
Wine and or cider
And audible

Pinksmyfavoritecolour · 15/10/2022 20:45

Wotsits and wine for me, if I have to do dinner for one as well, a cook macaroni cheese.
