Good Morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in silence, before I head up to make sure the girls are up.

We're off to a college open day for dd1, with one of her friends. She's 99% sure what she wants to apply for as a-levels but wants to go and speak to the tutors again.

Thankfully, the house is clean and tidy, and there are just 2 wash loads to do this weekend.

We'll probably nip to the big Asda for a wander of their home aisles on the way home, and maybe head round the lake to the shops there.

I have no idea what's for tea yet - I meant to make pizza dough last night, so we could pick up toppings today, but totally forgot about it. That said, it probably will be diy pizzas of some sort, and a glass of wine for me.

What about all of you? 🙂

Seeing my lovely inlaws. Unfortunately their eldest son and his awful fiance are coming. I haven't seen them since August because she was so rude to me on holiday.

ofwarren · 15/10/2022 07:38

Nothing much planned today. I did want to get out into the countryside but so far the weather is dire and it doesn't look like its going to let up.

Middle DS is going to choir practice for the Carol concert in December and I'm taking youngest DS to get a present for his friend's birthday party tomorrow.

Gingernaut · 15/10/2022 07:38

Finished a night shift, solid handover chin wag with the early day shift, walked down to Greggs and now having OJ, fruit and a pastry before going home to sleep and start all over again tonight

lannistunut · 15/10/2022 07:40

I've woken up worrying about remortaging 😥

We're having a quiet weekend before half term starts so we are going to do loads of cooking, go for a walk, play games and generally relax.

MintJulia · 15/10/2022 07:40

Just finished by first cuppa. Swimming for ds, Parkrun for me. next.

Then food shop, some gardening, washing, general chores. I'm going to start the xmas list. It has to be done.

A generally laid-back weekend. Nothing planned for once, which is quite nice. 😊

OhMerde · 15/10/2022 07:41

Had a huge row with oh last night, so my weekend has got off to a great start. Will walk the dog in-between downpours though and go food shopping for friends who are here later and staying over.

PurplePositivity · 15/10/2022 07:43

Currently sat with my second cup of tea, enjoying the silence.

Hair cut later and I fancy a mooch round the charity shops, I'm looking for a new jacket/coat - hoping I drop lucky. I also have two bags to donate as I've been having a clear out.

Out for dinner for DSs birthday tonight and I can't wait as it's a very 'posh' place.

CormoranStrike · 15/10/2022 07:44

Following politics Twitter a lot!

getting my nails done.

and sewing, while listening to politics chat!

I’m making a patchwork quilt for a lovely friend who is going through a tough time health wise, so that’s a labour of love for today.

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 15/10/2022 07:46

My DD6 will be in bed in a minute for morning cuddles and wordle. I'm heading out for a run this morning, she's going swimming with DH. Got my friend's kids party this afternoon where I'm running the games then back to theirs for the after party! Tomorrow is forecast to be sunny and we have nothing planned so it will probably be a boxing workout in the morning with DH whilst DD chills out and then a nice sunny walk with the dog!

InFiveMins · 15/10/2022 07:52

I've been awake for an hour or so, and just relaxing with a cuppa in the quiet.

I've jumped aboard the airfryer train and have one being delivered today so will need to stay in until that comes. Making a "breakfast tea" tonight to put the airfryer to test - waffles, bacon, sausages, and eggs and beans that I'll do on the hob.

We will go the cemetery to lay some flowers and have a walk around. The weather isn't great here today though and pouring down with rain, so unless it dries up a bit we'll mostly be spending the day indoors. We watched Hocus Pocus 2 last weekend and I'm desperate to rewatch the first one so will probably put that on if it's too wet and miserable to go out!

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 15/10/2022 07:57

It is absolutely lashing it down here.Torrential rain!

Taking my mother for a covid jab then off to The Range to do some Christmas shopping.

House is fairly clean as I whipped round yesterday with the duster and Hoover. I’ll pick something up for tea tonight.
Nice quiet day pottering around.

swimmingincustard · 15/10/2022 07:58

DCs football match followed by a kids birthday party, will pop and see my parents as they're close to the party venue then home to tackle mountains of laundry ready to start packing for a half term holiday.

HipHopBanzai · 15/10/2022 08:02

I got up earlier to let the dog out but have come back to bed. I can hear the kids downstairs with him now, so will get up in a minute and make a brew.

Will try and convince everyone to come out for a wet dog walk before the usual round of kids dance lessons. DD1 is also meeting some friends at some point and DD2 has a party this afternoon.

I'm going out with friends this evening, so don't need to worry about tea. Will remind DH that he needs to get some bits in for it though!

Writing my husband's eulogy Sad (sorry to bring the mood down)
But also taking the dog for a walk - he's keeping me sane

tonystarksrighthand · 15/10/2022 08:09

AiryFairy1 · 15/10/2022 08:09

Hugs to you @MumofSpud ❤️

Vampirethriller · 15/10/2022 08:11

I'm on the bus to work. DD3 has gone to my friend's and they're going to the museum and to feed the ducks. I'm very tired today!

AiryFairy1 · 15/10/2022 08:11

I’m going to have morning tea with my elderly neighbour, which will be a highlight as I haven’t her in ages and we always have a great chat together.
Kids have swimming, and we’ll go to the library, but it’s otherwise a quiet weekend which we all desperately need!

Evira · 15/10/2022 08:12

@MumofSpud 💐

On the sofa with a coffee watching the rugby at the moment while DH is walking DDog. Meeting my friend for a coffee and catch up this morning. Food shop to be done on the way back. Weather miserable here as well today so planning on reading my new book under a blanket. Then burgers for tea with Strictly this evening.

Evira · 15/10/2022 08:13

@MumofSpud - sorry for your loss, I remember reading your ‘live’ thread and being incredibly shocked and moved.

Queenofheart · 15/10/2022 08:13

Sorry to hear that @MumofSpud

I’m going to an Elvis afternoon tea at The monastery in Manchester with friends. Then meeting up with our DHs for drinks.

Off to The Company Shop with DS at 9am as he has just qualified for membership as in emergency services.

DH and DS will be putting the fireplace back together.

I am painting some furniture later as my chalk paint arrived.

Ordering a rotary washing line and some socks for my sore feet.

DS is off to stay at his girlfriends for 2 weeks, I feel a bit pathetic but she usually stays here. She has moved in to a shared house so he can stay now as she is not in halls of residence and I shall miss them both. He has training about five minutes from her house for two weeks so makes sense.

Making duck in orange sauce for dinner tonight then watching a film with DH.

@MumofSpud Please accept my condolences. Reach out for help here and in real life.
