Good Morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in silence, before I head up to make sure the girls are up.

We're off to a college open day for dd1, with one of her friends. She's 99% sure what she wants to apply for as a-levels but wants to go and speak to the tutors again.

Thankfully, the house is clean and tidy, and there are just 2 wash loads to do this weekend.

We'll probably nip to the big Asda for a wander of their home aisles on the way home, and maybe head round the lake to the shops there.

I have no idea what's for tea yet - I meant to make pizza dough last night, so we could pick up toppings today, but totally forgot about it. That said, it probably will be diy pizzas of some sort, and a glass of wine for me.

What about all of you? 🙂

Cleaning the house because the cleaning crew didn’t turn up for the second week running.😡 £16 an hour , you’d think someone would want to do it, two tidy adults, no pets…..

then I’m going to watch Trueshan at Ascot and finish planting the heathers I bought half price at B&Q. Duck for dinner.

Giveronyoursausage · 15/10/2022 08:17

Rugby League World Cup starts today so that's me sorted for the next 6 weeks. Dp and ds will go food shopping, dd will probably be in her bedroom talking to her friends I've got uniforms to wash and just to do a quick tidy around then takeaway for dinner later.

Eggsley · 15/10/2022 08:23

@MumofSpud so sorry for your loss Flowers

We've just had breakfast and are about to get ready for DH's football training session. DS1 helps out, DS2 is a participant and I do the admin stuff.

This afternoon DH is off to the football and I have no plans with the DSs. Might pop over to see my parents before they go away mid-week. Might stay home and do some cleaning. It will be a long afternoon.

Not sure what is for dinner yet either!

FayeGovan · 15/10/2022 08:27

Dh and ds going to the football, i might go and have a wander round shops, although i don't want to spend any money so i may stay home. Weather here bucketing down.

@MumofSpud, i followed your thread too. I'm so sorry. Life can be so cruelFlowers

jenn88 · 15/10/2022 08:35

I'm meant to be waking up in a posh house with the girls on a hen weekend!
Alas DD has tonsillitis and I couldn't leave her! She's only 2 and her first ever round of antibiotics and her temp is spiking at 29,8 still........
So another day of caring for her!

Beautifulsunflowers · 15/10/2022 08:37

@MumofSpud i too followed your thread - good luck today writing his eulogy.

I’ve had a couple of busy weekends so this one is going to be quiet with not much planned except tidying the house and cleaning, doing the washing and ironing. I do need a new pair of trousers/jeggings so maybe a mooch found the shops if I can be bothered!!
I’ll be watching strictly tonight after I’ve cooked enchiladas for dinner and opened a bottle of red wine.

MumofSpud · 15/10/2022 08:04

Writing my husband's eulogy Sad (sorry to bring the mood down)
But also taking the dog for a walk - he's keeping me sane

That has put my work anxiety and heavy cold into perspective. Sending you a hug, glad you have a dog to help you through this 💐

Tigerblue4 · 15/10/2022 08:53

Nothing planned, which is fine as I worked part of yesterday and am working tomorrow. Also, had covid vaccine on Thurs and not feeling 100%. On days like this, I'll do an online tai chi class (got into them during lockdown and actually enjoy), potter around in the garden and go for a walk. DH likes watching racing, so I usually half watch with him, alongside reading/messing around online.

Rowgtfc72 · 15/10/2022 08:56

@MumofSpud

Chilling after picking up the puppy last weekend. Not much sleep here but he's still gorgeous.

SavingsThreads · 15/10/2022 08:59

Sorry to hear about everyone's weather - it's glorious here! Blue skies, sunny, and warm enough to have the window open.

This is my first weekend home in 6 weeks so looking forward to lying very still on the sofa for much of it! House is horrendously messy with half unpacked suitcases etc, but weirdly looking forward to getting it in order.

Got a beef orzo dish cooking for later, and might sort out my cupboards as I keep finding tins I didn't know about at the back.

Azandme · 15/10/2022 08:59

Collecting dd from a sleepover at 11, picking up shopping at 11.30. Hair appointment this afternoon.

Plus the usual laundry, cooking, cleaning, house crap of the weekend.

Whistlesandbell · 15/10/2022 09:00

Chilling this morning and will chat to my family and try and make some Christmas plans.
Tuna bake for lunch and then going to the cinema to watch A Lost King (with a pick a mix).

Goingforplatinum · 15/10/2022 09:04

Trying to stop myself going insane, I have a house to clean and washing to do whilst toddler DD is having tantrum after tantrum and DSD is trying to compete with her on who can be the most annoying. All the while DH is in bed after doing a nightshift. Today is going to be a long day.

SkirridHill · 15/10/2022 09:05

DD has a cough/cold so we are hunkering down for the weekend. It's a beautiful day here though, the storm has blown through. I've got to repot some plants and order some more pots, then the usual domestic chores to get us ready for the working week.

This sounds a bit mean to admit but, I'm glad that playdates and dance classes have been cancelled due to aforementioned cough, as it means a rare day of doing very little.

SkirridHill · 15/10/2022 09:07

Oh @MumofSpud I'm sorry for your loss. Eulogies are bloody hard to write.

Secretboringsister · 15/10/2022 09:07

Cleaning, washing but first Lidl and coffee. After that a walk to get my steps in, am finishing with a little run of the bad sisters on Apple+! And No snacking!!

twistyizzy · 15/10/2022 09:10

6am walked dog before going to the yard to do horse. Now back home with a cuppa enjoying great peace before everyone starts getting up. Debating whether to nip back to yard to bring horse in due to constant downpour.
Will farm dog's second walk of the day out to the husband while I take daughter riding then back home to clean bathroom and upstairs. Contemplating making a veggie sausage casserole or toad in the hole for tea. Once that's prepped will go back to the yard to do afternoon stables then pick up wine and snacks ready to watch Strictly tonight with my DD.
Really feels like Autumn here now; dark, dank and chucking it down. I hate it 😔

Quizzed · 15/10/2022 09:12

I'm just about to have a cup of tea and breakfast then I'll have to start thinking about getting ready for work. I'm working all weekend.

Decafflatteplease · 15/10/2022 09:38

Oh @MumofSpud I'm so very sorry to hear this, wishing you a gentle day.

We had a much needed lie in (until 8.30) as was up in the night having to change DC bedsheets. Plus I was out with friends until midnight so a broken nights sleep! Aforementioned sheets are now in the wash but that's an extra load to do. Definitely going to have to use thr tumble dryer alot this weekend but I think it's 70p an hour if my maths is correct which seems quite cheap 🤔

I've just had a massive mug of tea on the couch with blankets and lovely sourdough toast with proper butter and marmalade, simple pleasures!

DC are playing/ sleeping/ reading so just a quiet pottering morning here. DC need to do homework, I want to take a few bags of stuff to the charity shop and also list a few things online to hopefully sell.

Swimming for all later and I'm hoping to sneak off to the sauna!

Not sure what's for tea here either. Might call in at the butcher's when I go the charity shop or may have a freezer rummage.

Wine TV and snacks with DH when dc asleep 🙂

popandchoc · 15/10/2022 09:40

Currently at swimming with dd2 . Then she has tap later and dd1 has cheerleading . Hopefully chilling after that as not feeling great . They are going out for dinner with their dad .

MintyGreenDreams · 15/10/2022 09:43

Having a coffee then later I'm off to the pub! Childfree and dh free.I feel like I'm 17 again

familyissues12345 · 15/10/2022 10:09

Not a lot, which is really nice! Only thing currently planned is dinner out at the local Indian

I may spend some time doing some easy research for work, or I may not..! Fancy just spending the day catching up on some tv that we've missed recently

MummyInTheNecropolis · 15/10/2022 10:19

I’ve done a load of washing and cleaned the kitchen, now I’m sitting on the sofa having a rest, going to listen to a podcast in a minute. Got someone coming to fix my broken oven between 12-4 then grocery delivery 4-5. DD is going to stay at my mums so I’ll be watching strictly in peace, and hopefully having homemade burger and chips for dinner if the oven fixing goes to plan! 🤞

Had a really long day at work yesterday, was out of the house from 5am-7pm so I’m really happy to have a day in today, and the next 2 weeks off.

ilovebagpuss · 15/10/2022 10:26

Morning, just been for my Covid and Flu jabs, flu jab arm hurting more at mo.
Just having a bacon roll and DD 1 is watching an episode of GOT as she finished it a while ago and is having withdrawals.
Need to go and take some jumpers back in town for my DF as too small.
It's a beautiful day here so might get out for a walk later.

EsmeeMerlin · 15/10/2022 10:51

I have spent the morning tidying and doing some housework. Can't stand the children getting under my feet on a Saturday morning so chucked them and DH out for a trip to the park while I cracked on. Now having 20 minutes sit down before they get back and DH heads off to work. Got my in laws coming for lunch and then I think I will take the children to soft play before strictly tonight.

Sorry @MumofSpud for your loss 💐
