Bin it

bravelittletiger · 14/10/2022 17:58

I would sniff it. If it smelt ok I would eat it definitely.

Bumbers · 14/10/2022 17:58

Bin it but I have a sensitive stomach and it’s easily upset. DH eats any old shit and never ails a thing. He’d probably sniff it first though.

Orangio · 14/10/2022 17:58

Is it raw? If yes, go by your nose. If no, I would eat it but that doesn't necessarily mean you should. I have spent years eating slightly mouldy food pretty regularly so I can probably handle it better than someone who never does. Also, my fridge is very cold. So, it depends!

bengalcat · 14/10/2022 17:59

I’d eat it

girlmom21 · 14/10/2022 18:00

I'd eat it if it doesn't stink

RiderOfTheBlue · 14/10/2022 18:00

Nope, not salmon, I'd bin it.

DappledThings · 14/10/2022 18:13

I'd go by smell too

Wolfiefan · 14/10/2022 18:18

I wouldn’t. You can smell if something is totally rotten but not all things that make you ill smell.

SuperCamp · 14/10/2022 18:20

Bin

StrikeandRobin · 14/10/2022 18:21

Not a chance I would eat that.

If you eat it, do come back and report. Good luck!

Bramblejoos · 14/10/2022 18:22

Only if there’s nothing else!

Heavenknows22 · 14/10/2022 18:22

No I wouldn’t.

StarlightLady · 14/10/2022 18:55

Sniff test! Things don't suddenly go off at 23:59 on the expired date. Latitude is built in.

DamnUserName21 · 14/10/2022 18:59

If it looks and smells ok. Cooked well. Sure.

SallyWD · 14/10/2022 18:59

I'd eat it.

CaptaNoctem · 14/10/2022 18:59

I'm usually fairly relaxed about use by dates but I wouldn't risk it

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 14/10/2022 19:01

yep if it looked and smelt ok.

NoSquirrels · 14/10/2022 19:02

Fridge or frozen?

Frozen yes; fridge no.

Salmon 2 days past a use-by date is not going to be nice. And as it’s wrapped in pastry you won’t know by the sniff test necessarily.

I am very relaxed about best before and the like and I’m all in favour of the sniff test & common sense usually, but not with fish.

Hotandbothereds · 14/10/2022 19:03

Yeah I would, I’d give it a sniff first, it’s really obvious if fish is off.

If you’d bought it from a fishmonger there wouldn’t be a date.

Northernsoullover · 14/10/2022 19:03

Nope. Even if the chances were its actually OK I could not enjoy that meal.

Xmasbaby11 · 14/10/2022 19:04

bin

awomanofthecuntytype · 14/10/2022 19:04

No way (unless it's frozen).

limitedperiodonly · 14/10/2022 19:14

Probably
