As someone who has spent time in hospital due to food poisoning, I wouldn't risk it. Being ill to the point of needing a drip and too weak to walk wasn't fun!

NumptiesIncorporated · 14/10/2022 19:22

I would bin it. Your house will reek of fish, as the smell just gets stronger and stronger.

Mind you, I'm used to really fresh fish. I remember heading to dinner at a works conference thing with everyone else, and people commenting on how good the fish smelled. I had been thinking how old the fish smelled.... We were in the heart of England and I grew up on an island.

I chose the vegetarian option 😆.

snowspider · 14/10/2022 19:23

I would cut one open and take a look /sniff then if OK cook well.

AlwaysLatte · 14/10/2022 19:24

Assuming you have a very efficient refrigerator I'd go with it if it smelled ok. They do factor in old fridges/longer trips home from the supermarket in the dates.

katepilar · 14/10/2022 19:29

If it was ok I would eat, why would you not?

Partypoooooper · 14/10/2022 19:44

I am a big believer in if it looks and smells ok I eat it. Fish though is another story 😷

PurpleFlower1983 · 14/10/2022 20:03

No, not with fish.

caringcarer · 14/10/2022 20:04

Bin fish or chicken. I'd sniff meat and if smell ok would use. My fridge is on 4 degrees.

ShakeYourFeathers · 14/10/2022 20:24

I'd bin it. Past experience of eating out of date but smelt ok fish has taught me that lesson 🤮

FeralWitch · 14/10/2022 20:26

Even if it smells ok when raw, once you cook it chances are it’ll stink of ammonia.

Bin it.

SatinHeart · 14/10/2022 20:29

I'd probably eat it (unless it smelled) but I wouldn't serve it to anyone else.

Hadalifeonce · 14/10/2022 20:35

If it's been I'm the fridge, no problem.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 14/10/2022 20:36

no i wouldnt

Epicstorm · 14/10/2022 20:38

So … Did you eat it?

JaniceBingALing · 14/10/2022 20:52

It's in the bin, it smelt ok until I cut it open Envy
