Covid and dog walking

Would you just go out now if you had covid for dog walks? If you had no other options.

Yes. Just stay away from people.

grayhairdontcare · 09/10/2022 16:18

You do realise you can go wherever and do whatever you want with covid?
You don't isolate anymore!
You get on with life.
Most people are not even testing

Yes

Yea definitely- I’m CEV but don’t worry at all about catching Covid when I’m out walking in fresh air and obviously walk past other people and dog walkers all the time.

RaininSummer · 09/10/2022 16:21

That's might be true Gray but it's still pretty antisocial if you are ill. But yes Op. I would walk dog but keep away from people.

CuriousCatfish · 09/10/2022 16:21

Yes.

Imissmoominmama · 09/10/2022 16:23

I’ve just had Covid. I walked my dog every day- just stayed away from people and wore a buff that I could pull up as a mask, just in case.

CheezePleeze · 09/10/2022 16:23

Yes of course but I'd try not to lick anyone.

asblindasabat · 09/10/2022 16:24

Yes, absolutely and I did in fact do just that when I had covid earlier this year.

I just went for short walks in big open spaces and kept my distance from people.

Mainly walked early morning / late at night when less people were around.

Didn’t go to work or shops etc

Yeah, but within reason. I certainly wouldn’t be going out and about as normal if I knew I had covid. Just like I wouldn’t if I had the flu.

Badger1970 · 09/10/2022 16:25

I walked my dog when I felt well enough to. We just kept off the beaten track.

Given that you don't need to isolate - it's a no brainer.

emmathedilemma · 09/10/2022 16:26

Yes

Benjispruce4 · 09/10/2022 16:26

Yes I did because I can walk over fields and not see anyone close enough to cause any concern. This was in the early summer so went early and late but was still bright.

CheezePleeze · 09/10/2022 16:26

You can't compare Covid to the flu.

I'd go to work with Covid if I couldn't work from home. I wouldn't be doing either with the flu.

Benjispruce4 · 09/10/2022 16:27

@grayhairdontcare you don’t spread germs if you can help it just as you wouldn’t walk about coughing and sneezing with a regular cold. Just bad form.

You cant’t compare Covid to the flu.

You can. They are both viruses that causes respiratory illness.

I had covid this year, I felt fine but anybody who I may have spread it onto if I had gone out as normal may not have been fine.

even when I have a cold I try to limit where im Going / what I’m doing to avoid passing it on to people.

offyoufuckcuntychops · 09/10/2022 16:29

Oh FFS, not all this again.

Benjispruce4 · 09/10/2022 16:31

Yes all this again. My Dd flew to Spain today and had to wear a mask again. We flew back from USA in summer and no masks were required.

prettylyttleliar · 09/10/2022 16:32

Thanks everyone for helpful input. I can get round fields without really bumping into anyone. I didn’t want to get judged by fellow school parents if I was seen so that’s why I wondered.

grayhairdontcare · 09/10/2022 16:32

@Benjispruce4 it maybe but my employer insists on people going to work with covid unless they are to Ill to move.
In my work covid is over

Wouldn’t worry. As long as you’re not getting close to other people then who cares

You misunderstood me.

Most people can't go about as normal with the flu but a lot of people can with Covid.

We're expected to come to work with Covid where I work (as long as we're well enough).

liveforsummer · 09/10/2022 16:35

Of course you can and of course you can compare covid to flu however I'd not have managed to walk the dog during the worst days of flu so there is that - it wouldn't be a question. Just keep your distance and don't sneeze in anyones face

BloodyHellKen · 09/10/2022 16:48

What's with the covid threads like it's 2020?

If you feel well enough to walk your dog walk it. If you don't, let it run round the garden.
I didn't think anyone outside healthcare was testing any more.

Benjispruce4 · 09/10/2022 17:16

@BloodyHellKen we are in schools if we have symptoms.
