Morning fellow Mumsnetters - how’s your weekend shaping up so far? My Saturday has started well. I actually got a lie in thanks to my medication & didn’t even wake in the night which I usually do. Just sold a pair of wellies which have been on Facebook Marketplace for months. The sun is shining. DH is working, DD13 out for a walk. Later DD & I are meeting up with her half brother at a trampoline place. This afternoon I have to try on some catalogue clothes which have been sitting, unopened, in our bedroom for ages. Also have a general tidy up. Bought reduced Pizza Express pizzas from Tescos yesterday ( they had loads of yellow ticket stuff) so we’ll have those for tea & watch Strictly. I need to catch up with last week’s at some point. Please don’t tell me who went out! Working tomorrow & DH is making a Jamie Oliver Carbonara. DD is extremely fussy but even she will eat that, although she picks out all the peas!

Waiting for ex to pick the kids up so I can go work. Dd2 is still undressed speaking to some one of FaceTime despite me calling her several times ..

cats running round like lunatics

I’m ignoring the mountain of washing that needs to be put away

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 08/10/2022 09:08

Dh has taken dd to ballet. Ds is playing a cooking game on the xbox and I'm lying on the sofa thinking about going in the shower. Had a horrendous night between dd's nosebleed and ds's nightmares so would really like to go back to bed but we've got the 1st of several Halloween events booked for later this morning.
Having dinner with the inlaws tonight so at least I can be lazy later.

notacooldad · 08/10/2022 09:09

I have absolutely no idea! I’ve not been there for a few days but I guess DH is at work, Ds2 and his girlfriend will call by and eat all my sweets and Ds2 will call in at 12:15 on his way home from work.
My lot are predictable.

Morning!
We're all still in PJs, DS1 (10) is watching Minecraft videos on YouTube, DD (8) is rewatching Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone for the 100th time, DS2 (3) is sitting on my knee doing colouring on the tablet.
DH is painting the hallway today, DS1 needs today to decompress after a very busy school week (he's autistic) so will watch his videos most of the day. I'll take the younger 2 to the park later and maybe get them a hot chocolate. Need to post some boots I sold on eBay so they'll probably fleece me for a magazine in the post office.
Later we'll watch a movie and have spaghetti bolognese.
Tomorrow we're going out for lunch with family for my birthday and at some point me and DD will catch up on strictly. Also need to dig a hole in the front garden for my new Apple tree.
All sounds very wholesome. There will be a lot of bickering and whining from the kids and DS1 will have several meltdowns amongst all the pleasantries 😅

Natsku · 08/10/2022 09:10

DS is playing on the switch, OH is in the basement playing guitar, DD is sulking because she woke up too early, and I'm drinking tea. DD has circus school later and if it stops raining I might take DS for a walk in the forest.

Tonight I'm having a board game night, belated birthday celebration for me and my friend, so I'll vacuum later to make sure the house is nice and clean (new friend is coming so I don't want to let on how slovenly I can be just yet)

zebrapig · 08/10/2022 09:11

Laying in bed bemoaning the fact that I can't go back to sleep because I have the hairdressers and need to go out in 20 mins. DS is watching her iPad and DH and DS are playing Mario on the switch. Unexpectedly had DD's friend and dog to stay last night so they were picked up at 8am. After I've had my hair done DH will take DD to her swimming lesson and I'll take DS to his party. Then all home for food and an early night!

MrsPnut · 08/10/2022 09:14

We've just finished pancakes, streaky bacon and maple syrup for breakfast, our shopping has been delivered and put away and the second load of washing is in the machine.

DD2 is supposed to be getting ready for roller derby, and finding some old wheels she has offered to lend to a team mate. She also wants to stop and pay in some money to her bank account, I have a parcel to return for DD1 and I have a prescription to collect as well.

DH has a barbers appointment just after lunch and then we need to go shopping for a new bike light and some socks.
Burgers, chips and onion rings for dinner tonight in front of Strictly.

Tomorrow will be sausage sandwiches and then off to rugby, DH stays at home to do the ironing and the house work.

Vampirethriller · 08/10/2022 09:14

Waiting for the chemist to open to pick up a prescription and then taking DD3 to a farm park and charity shops, she wants to pick a new ornament for her bedroom (she likes the granny-type little dogs and China flower baskets!)

Then this afternoon it's the allotment to make a mouse-proof broad bean coldframe. Might have pork chops for dinner.

mamaduckbone · 08/10/2022 09:18

Dh and I were up early to do a double attack on the food shop this morning since he had to be out of the house with ds13 at 9 to take him to a rugby coaching clinic. They're watching a match this afternoon so will be out for most of the day.
I've just had a wander round the garden with a cup of coffee, now bracing myself to put the shopping away but might make myself something nice for breakfast first.
Ds16 is still in bed and probably will be for a couple of hours yet so I've got a peaceful house.
I need to do some school work, and I'll pop over to my mum's this afternoon.
Fish and chips, wine and log burner lit this evening.

Whendovescry03 · 08/10/2022 09:33

Still in our pjs and drinking coffee while DS plays with his toys and the radio is on in the background. Breakfast is about to go on. Then we're off for a big walk in the sunshine which will end at the pub. Home later for something undecided for dinner and nice bottle of red wine in front of the fire. I'm really looking forward to the day!

shiningstar2 · 08/10/2022 09:42

Wow. You are all amazing. I am not a morning person. Still in dressing gown. Dh 'making' breakfast ...2 rivitas with butter and jam 😁 good delivery arriving between 10 and 11. Will be doing housework with DH after that. Sometime after ,3.00 meeting DD in town to go to travel agent. She wants to make some changes to a holiday she and her family are going on with us next July. Dh will walk dog and cook a chicken for tomorrow while I'm out. Will probably watch strictly later but DH not interested in it so a bit dull with noone to comment to about it. Sometimes will watch something else with him and just watch the results show tomorrow.

shivawn · 08/10/2022 09:45

My husband slept in the spare room with the baby monitor last night and he got up with baby this morning so I got my first full night of sleep all week.

Still in bed now but I've been awake since around 8 just listening to music and scrolling through my phone.

Giggorata · 08/10/2022 09:47

DH has gone for his vaccinations and I am having a slow tidy round and have put a wash on.
I will loll about with a tray of tea until he returns and then we will take advantage of the good weather to do some yard work. He will be removing a tree stump and I will empty out and wash all the garden pots, chimney pots, etc. I hope there won't be too many spiders.

I will also wash down the garden chairs and take the plastic ones back down to the land, and do a bit more work on my raised beds. I have a thornless bramble to plant but want it in a bed on its own, so it can go berserk without choking anything else.

Chicken curry was made in the slow cooker overnight, so just rice to do when we're hungry.

There's a band on at the village pub tonight but a few pub friends tested positive this week, so I may stay in and continue my Peter Greenaway film binge.

Tomorrow, clearing the way for shelving and cupboards being built on Monday.
I decided that I wouldn't get rid of my DVDs and CDs, because many of them can't be sourced online. I am so looking forward to getting them and the tarot cards collection all stored away in order. Currently, they are sitting on the sofa and chairs and all over everything in my parlour. 🙁

dementedma · 08/10/2022 09:58

Dh at work. DS in the shower getting ready to go to Edinburgh. I have to drive him there because there are no sodding trains! Urgh, hate city driving.

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 08/10/2022 09:58

Literally nothing. Me and DH both had covid booster yesterday and had barely any sleep as his temperature went really high and it was like sleeping next to a radiator. Both feeling really groggy and headaches today so just going to let DD(13) pick a Netflix series to watch.

JurassicShay · 08/10/2022 10:00

I'm laying on the sofa drinking coffee & eating smarties Grin the washing is nearly finished so I'll have to get up soon. DP is working. DD15, DS13 & DS8 all in their rooms, probably on some kind of device. DD2 is watching Steve & Maggie Halloween videos on YouTube, which she has been watching for the last 4 months - thought she would have got bored by now Confused

We're having a chilled weekend, after me & DD2 have been ill for most of the week. She's given me tonsillitis but she also has what is probably scarlet fever!

AsAnyFuleKno · 08/10/2022 10:02

Just hearing noises upstairs suggesting DH might be getting up. I'm on the sofa and the cats are looking out of the window.

dkedm15 · 08/10/2022 10:06

Currently half sat/half laid in bed with our 4 week old DD asleep on me. DH is creeping because I told him to go and have a sleep in the spare room around 4am when DD was (happily but extremely) wide awake and there was no point in us both missing sleep - he's had 5.5 hours and is now very chirpy, so he's just brought me up some crumpets and I can hear him putting a wash load on (unprompted!).

When he's finished pottering around and sorting the dogs out I'll be going for a shower and then having a lazy day with DD as we've got visitors tomorrow - planning on making good progress with her birth sampler cross stitch during her afternoon sleep. DH is out with my brother later for a couple of hours and then DH will bring my mum round when he's dropped my brother off. We'll probably have a takeaway and watch crap TV until mum goes home 😊

VeridicalVagabond · 08/10/2022 10:12

Still in bed, DH and DD out sorting the horses this morning. Got a pot of tea DH brought me before they went out. Me and dogs having a duvet morning just because. It's my day to stay in bed as long as I want.

Going to have waffles when they get back from the yard. Might have a potter in the garden or a read. DD wants to show me some art project she's working on. Very lazy, slow day planned.

DD going ice skating with friends and staying out tonight so DH and I going to have a date night. Nice dinner we'll cook together, movie and popcorn, big cuddle and us time.

I really like days like today.

bloodywhitecat · 08/10/2022 10:18

After an intense few weeks bridging my little one to his new family I am having a lie in. For the last few weeks I have had people in my house (or I have been in their house) from wake up until his bedtime. It is a very intense time for everyone involved. His move was completed yesterday so I am now alone, at home. I can't remember the last time I was home alone.

Today I am decorating his bedroom ready for a new child. I need to shift some furniture and pack away the last few bits and pieces which I will do soon as I have my flu jab this afternoon which usually renders my arm useless for a day or two. I am also tackling my 'huge' pile of washing for one, first time with no child sized clothes on the line for a while.

I am missing DH with his annoying "Whadda we gonna do today?" questions, I would give anything to hear that again. I miss the dog too. And I miss my noisy house, even the sounds of a frustrated toddler or two.

Blocked · 08/10/2022 10:23

We're still in pyjamas. DS (5) is coming down with a cold and really needs a rest day, he's had a very busy month. Just have to go to Asda and pick up a click and collect order and will get us a McDonald's, and close my ears to the 'can we go to softplay/the park/the toy shop/literally anywhere' wheedling that will inevitably start up (we really need a sigh emoji!)

Oh it must be so hard to say goodbye to your foster children especially after losing your husband Flowers I hope your new little one settles in well. You're doing such a wonderful thing.

Number73 · 08/10/2022 10:25

Had a lie-in and just having a coffee and gearing up to do some housework (need to get off MN!). Absolutely shattered from the week at work, and my house is a tip.

DH is away this weekend. Teen DD is going out clothes shopping with a friend. Teen DS is still in bed and probably won’t do much today.

I’m going to clean the house,, sort laundry and listen to some podcasts.

Takeaway and film tonight.

HairyMothballs · 08/10/2022 10:29

I've been up since 7.15. Husband at work. Stripped the bed, changed the shower curtain, had the washer on twice and hung it all out. Folded a big basketful of clean washing, ready to put away. Emptied the dishwasher, wiped round in the kitchen and bathroom. Our son and his family will be here later, for a quick visit, inbetween their packing to move house. Pizzas for tea.

sittingonacornflake · 08/10/2022 10:29

I'm sat watching Netflix feeling very sorry for myself with covid.

DS is back today after a few nights with his DGPs so so I am steadily washing / disinfecting as best I can throughout the day but I have to keep resting. Rotten virus.
