Liz Truss, Matt cock in hand and Jeremy Cunt. It sounds like the world's worst pornography line up.
How the fuck did they end up running a country?

Don't forget BJ 😂

I really hope that if the LP get a go at this they are straight with the people :
' we can't fix it ' just tell us the truth
Tell us the numbers
Tell us what's been going on
Explain in plain English what needs to happen
Treat us all like grown ups

Totally agree & I would dearly love a grown up conversation about the damage brexit has done & will continue to do unless we can find some sort of solution doubt it will happen though, unless it’s three word soundbites & slogans a lot of the electorate cannot or don’t want to discuss the realities of a government that has deliberately & wilfully pursued an ideology that benefits the very few.
They have lied cheated & behaved appalling in so many ways that I cannot even begin to list they are a cess pit of immortality.

The Telegraph says

Another veteran backbencher called on the 1922 committee to suspend the normal rules and ask the party board to approve the process.

"We are dead anyway at the next election – but it will be terminal death if we go to the party,” he said. “The public will never forgive us if we faff around with this."

I think you might have put an extra n in running instead of an i.

How arrogant of them to assume the Tories will get back in after Labour clears up the mess. I saw an analogy on twitter: the Tories have crashed the car into a ditch so they ask labour to repair it and get it back on the road. Then they ask for the keys back and say they're a better driver now. 🙄🤔

Labour and Libdems are now both committed to proportional representation. If they do that as soon as they get in there'll never be another conservative government.

An interesting thread from Beth Rugby plus some of the tweets at the end are worth reading

I would love to chat to my Tory friends about this shitshow but can't bear to, in case they try to say this is all ok.
Best avoided

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2022 20:11

My siblings are more concerned about a Labour Party :(
They still defend everything the conservatives have ever inflicted on us.

Ditto my siblings. One of mine is so misinformed it's untrue. I can't believe her views. Needless to say we NEVER talk politics

My own actual CHILD (well, not a child clearly as they are eligible to vote now) 'doesn't know' who they'll vote for. Ive fucked up on my fundamental job of parenting. If my own child doesn't know we need to get rid of the Tories then I don't think it's a done deal that they are finished at the GE because I rant about the damage those fuckers are doing every single day. Apparently they won't vote for the Tories, though 🤔
We live in a Labour stronghold so it's immaterial but it makes me sad. Maybe they think Labour will win anyway so they'll just vote for the party that aligns most with their values <clutches at straws>

I think I can imagine what daddy Truss is going through

Our of interest what kind of media do they read? I do worry that I'm in such an echo chamber with my reading that I'll be in for a rude awakening

Blossomtoes · 16/10/2022 20:51

Mine votes Green @GreenLunchBox. I think I did too good a job!

My sis reads the DFail and Torygraph and only that. She's totally opposed to any views that are different to that media. 'Nuff said

Kids....one campaigns for the Labour party and even gets a Christmas card from her MP. She goes on Marches and is v active politcally. They both read online, Twitter and other media and have the same views.

What about your other kid(s)?

itsgettingweird · 16/10/2022 21:03

Mines just registered to vote.

He will not vote Tory.

I have no idea who he'll vote for though!

itsgettingweird · 16/10/2022 21:05

Just asked him.

Labour or his mate if he ran as he said he'd be brilliant 🤷‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I have maybe done a good job - at least in the loyalty to mates front 🤣

I may have been a bit optimistic. The party have voted for it but Starmer is saying no. FFS.

All the same politically. Live in safe labour seats, vote labour

tobee · 16/10/2022 21:39

My dd is Labour.
My ds is Labour and was a member (maybe still is?) to keep them moderate rather than pro Corbyn type of member. I find it weird that ds is probably more moderate than me because generally people quite left when young and go more right wing. But he's a very rational chap for a youngster and is a politics graduate and much better read than me.

All my family are Labour even though live in Tory area. My pil were very much Tory though. My mil a bit shocked when she found out I was Labour as if it's "not a nice thing". Loads of Tories are like that!

Dh was floating voter labour/sdp/lib but now much more left.

I thought Starmer was supposed to be clever!🤬

I've always been a Labour voter and right now my aim is GTTO, but I would love an amazing party to turn up. Maybe with PR somebody other than the usual suspects would get in. I just want a country where public services work and the vulnerable are protected. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I was sent a video about the UAE that was talking about how in 50 years they've created a country where healthcare, roads and other infrastructure is great for the people. The video said it's because they've got loads of money but also the people in charge care about their people and that's why everything is working well. I must admit I know NOTHING about the UAE (I think they've got poor human rights, so if that's true then obviously not a good example) but I just want a country where the people in charge want it to be good for the majority. The video said there's loads of money in the world but the difference is that in that those in charge want to help their people. Again I know nothing about the UAE but I do know that in the UK we are a rich country but the money is being hoarded so that only the rich are ok. I have no idea what roads, A+E and police the Tories use in this country. Must be an amazing alternative world🤔
